創価学会は、1930 昭和5 年11月18日、牧口常三郎初代会長と戸田城聖第二代会長 当時理事長 によって創立されました。 同書の奥付に戦前の会名 創価教育学会 の名称が初めて現れたことをもって、この日を創価学会創立記念日と しています。 しかし、1928 同3 年に日蓮大聖人の仏法に出会った牧口会長は、この仏法こそが自身の教育理論の根底となる 人格価値の創造 を可能にするものであるとの強い確信を持つようになりました。 1945 同20 年7月3日に出獄した戸田理事長は、戦後、会の再建を一人決意し、会名を 創価学会 と改めて出発しました。 そして、1951 同26 年 5月3日には、会員の総意を受けて第二代会長に就任し、以後、逝去する1958 同33 年までに会員世帯は75万世帯となり、大きな前進を果たしました。 発展の礎を築いた恩師 戸田会長の下で薫陶を受け、1960 同35 年5月3日に第三代会長に就任した池田大作名誉会長は、創価学会の発展に尽力し、今日では世帯数827万を数えるに至っています。

1975年 昭和50年 、SGI 創価学会インタナショナル の会長に就任。 創価学園 創価大学 アメリカ創価大学のほか、 財 民主音楽協会、 財 東京富士美術館、 財 東洋哲学研究所、牧口記念教育基金会、戸田記念国際平和研究所など教育 音楽 美術 学術の諸団体を創立。 主な著書に、小説 人間革命 全12巻 、 二十一世紀への対話 A トインビーとの対談 など。 また、 さくらの木 などの童話や、 青春対話 など青少年向けの著作も数多い。 池田大作名誉会長の行動の軌跡を、 平和 教育 詩人 対話 弟子 家族 の6つのテーマごとに紹介します。 池田大作名誉会長が世界の大学や学術機関で行った講演や、 平和 教育 に関する提言を紹介します。 池田大作 いけだだいさく は1928年 昭和３年 １月２日、現在の東京都大田区で海苔製造業を営む一家の五男として生まれました。 1975年 同50年 １月26日には、世界51か国 地域のメンバーがグアム島に集い、創価学会インタナショナル SGI が創立され、池田はSGI 会長に就任。 作家、詩人、哲学者として 小説 人間革命 の執筆.

創価学会では、壮年 婦人 青年の各部有志から構成される 創価合唱団 、婦人部の 白ゆり合唱団 、男子部の しなの合唱団 関西男声合唱団 、女子部の 富士合唱団 、未来部の 正義合唱団 をはじめ、全国各地で多数の合唱団が平和のメッセージを伝えることを目的に、演奏活動を展開している。 活字離れの深刻さが叫ばれる中で、広く社会に 読書 と 本 の大切さを訴える催しとして、2002年に東京で巡回が始まり、これまでに100万人以上が鑑賞している。 これまで、世界21カ国で開催され、2008年6月には、国連の専門機関 国際海事機関 IMO の本部で展示会を開催した。 星辰会、星辰常勝会 理容師を職業とする男子部 壮年部のグループ により、災害時の避難所や福祉施設などでの散髪を行っている。
