Paris Lights: Oh mamma!
http://parislights.blogspot.com/2009/09/oh-mamma.html
The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Friday, September 04, 2009. The first three months were peppered with nausea and trying to keep the information under wraps. It was so hard for me, and I have to admit that it slipped out during a conversation or two with doctors at work. Friday, September 04, 2009. You did your coming out on the blog on the same day I decided to do mine on FB. September 04, 2009 8:52 pm. I once sang in front of Bill Clinton. L in Hong Kong.

The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Just a very short post to say read the lovely Lola's blog. Also, I'm rather excited because very soon my lovely G is whisking me off to the Jules Verne restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. For my birthday (it was last week). The restaurant has great reviews on Trip Advisor, and I'm very much looking forward to the view as well! Sunday, January 18, 2009. Links to this post. Thursday, January 15, 2009. And ne...

The end is nigh… | They Eat Horses Don\'t They?

They Eat Horses Don ’t They? Ramblings of an (often confused) Englishman in Paris. 22 February, 2008. The end is nigh…. As I prepare to leave Paris, I’ve started making mental notes of the things I’m going to miss, and some of those I’m not. Here’s a few for starters:. Nursing a coffee on the Canal St Martin. Public transport that works. Granted, there are the strike to contend with, but atleast you’re given notice – unlike when the District Line goes down at 7.30 in the morning. No hoodies in Paris (yea...

Paris Lights: November 2008
http://parislights.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Sunday, November 30, 2008. Getting the cleaners in. Well my dusty back-shelf projects are still rather dusty, and not just the projects but actually the shelves themselves. To that end, I've decided to get the industrial cleaners in. He's now due back on Friday 5th, in the morning. As (bad) luck would have it, I have to go to the north of France that day for work and won't therefore see him until that evening. Links to this post.

The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Friday, September 19, 2008. Our band said its final goodbye last weekend, at a rather chilly but very friendly and enjoyable wedding in Poland. Krakow is a beautiful town, relatively unspoilt by the WWII destruction that went on in Warsaw and many other places. It has beautiful sculpted rooftops and shady squares with fountains. Next trip, Boston. Friday, September 19, 2008. Links to this post. Monday, September 08, 2008. It se...

Paris Lights: April 2009
http://parislights.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Sunday, April 26, 2009. I'm stretched out listening to a wonderful selection of Sondheim on fantastic new Spotify, and musing over the last weekend, life and the various choices we make. Seeing my life through their eyes made me realise that first of all I'm so very lucky to live in such a beautiful city. Second, that even though I see going down to the market and getting choucroûte. The dinner we enjoyed at Les Ombres was no l...

Paris Lights: Unexpected Song II
http://parislights.blogspot.com/2009/04/unexpected-song-ii.html
The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. When my friend M put a video up on facebook of some woman singing "I Dreamed a Dream", I thought it would be like any other amazing new talent, belting out the "sha-a-a-a-me" with a neverending diphthong in true Ruthie Henshall style. And yes, of course all the shiny new talents are good, but it gets depressing after a while. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Ah yes Susan Boyle. Being a cynic I was surprised...

Paris Lights: Sunny days in the country
http://parislights.blogspot.com/2009/03/sunny-days-in-country.html
The wine-ings of an anglophone francophile in the shade of the city of light. Friday, March 20, 2009. Sunny days in the country. I can't believe it's been over a month since I wrote anything of even minor interest on here. I've been following the lovely Lola. On her footpath to love, working, to-ing and fro-ing to the country and I have been mightily neglecting my cyber-diary. I couldn't have imagined that there would be another English person of about my age in such a small secluded village. Anyway,...
