Friday, May 2, 2008. Yesterday I took these pictures of the Red Crossbill. (Also seen it at the same feeder today.) I checked my bird book and an internet site, and both shows it is a very rare bird for our area. My-National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds- states,.
