It Can Always Be Better. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Flip-Pal Portable Scanner Review for Genealogists and Other Interested Folk. During my visit with the Federation of Genealogical Societies annual. This year, I met people at the Flip-Pal. Booth They have created a hand-held reflective type scanner to help people make quick scans of images and documents that they might not have been able to make. With a normal flat-bed scanner. I was impressed to say the least. However, as a full-time photo retoucher.

The Look – Memories in the Wind
https://memoriesinthewind.wordpress.com/2014/06/19/the-look
Memories in the Wind. June 19, 2014. This isn’t the LOOK. It’s the normal friendly look. It took me until my kids were in their teens to master some semblance of the look. You know the one. The talk-to-the-hand, don’t-mess-with-me, don’t-even-try-it look. My kids probably think of it as the Mom is on the verge of revoking car privileges look. We were staying at a luxurious. Although a new or altered perspective on life can come from small experiences like turning on a light switch after a multiday power outage, the lasting changes tend to come from larger life events. For my dad, it came from a close call with the school of hard knocks. Daddy after his change in perspective. The scan revealed a ruptured disc in his cervical spine. It was ruptured on both sides, which, though it caused no pain, put his spinal cord under critical pr...

Christmas Away from Home – Memories in the Wind
https://memoriesinthewind.wordpress.com/2013/12/04/christmas-away-from-home
Memories in the Wind. December 4, 2013. Christmas Away from Home. Nothing brings home the significance of Christmas traditions like spending a Christmas away from home. Glühwein or hot spiced (mulled) red wine is a wonderful German tradition. Acquired over 20 years ago at a Germany Christmas market, this feather angel is still one of my favorite tree decorations. Now when we celebrate Christmas, I love adding the elements from the years that we lived in Europe. Somehow, they’ll always be a part of me.
