Faberdashery: March 2013
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Wednesday, 6 March 2013. Spring has sprung fabric noticeboard. After yesterday's delightful weather (highs of 16 degrees C on 5th March! I thought it was time to post this blog on how to make a fabric covered noticeboard, after I recently made this floral and blue-ribboned one for Jim's sister's 18th birthday. It would also make a great Mothers' Day present :). I then cut the fabric I wanted to use to size, again, about 3 inches larger all round than the board. Next I placed the...

Faberdashery: March 2014
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Tuesday, 18 March 2014. Chest of Drawer Handles. This has been the sad front of the chest of drawers. We rescued from freecycle nearly a couple of years ago, sanded down, and left handle-less after I successfully rusted all the orignal brass drawer pulls.eeek. I had spotted the idea of using an old belt as handles so scouted some used leather belts on ebay for a couple of pounds each. Labels: chest of drawers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Faberdashery: September 2014
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Ikea kitchen stool transformation. This basic stool from Ikea has clearly seen better days, so I thought it was time for a little re-vamping. I lightly sanded it before painting with primer:. And then adding two coats of Farrow and Ball's Ball Green, letting each coat dry in between:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Faberdashery: August 2014
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Friday, 8 August 2014. Rustic stamped wooden hangers. I recently found these hangers in a charity shop £1 for 6 so snapped up a dozen immediately! I've always liked the idea of having a long row of hooks all the way across one wall with personalised hangers to hang things on, in a hallway or bedroom, as well as straightforward hooks:. The hangers were all in excellent condition, but to do anything with them I though it would be best to start off by giving them a light sand:. I know ...

Faberdashery: Hallway transformation Part II
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2015/01/hallway-transformation-part-ii.html
Crafting in the city. Tuesday, 6 January 2015. Hallway transformation Part II. Hello and happy New Year! So this is where we left off the transformation of our flat hallway just before Christmas:. I nailed together and then painted the halved table in the same colour as the mirror (see that transformation here. With the stripes finished on the wall, I screwed in the bobbin hooks. And finally had a home for the stamped hangers. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Faberdashery: July 2014
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Wednesday, 30 July 2014. It's been a while. I can't believe the amazing summer we've been having in London so far - I hope it lasts! On a summery note, I absolutely love these Tommy Hilfiger retro pastel sunglasses, they epitomise summer for me - such light, fun, care-free colours (similar to a Fab ice lolly) while of course, being super practical! I created a guide for a straight line by covering up the bits I didn't want to paint with sellotape:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The in...

Faberdashery: December 2014
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Crafting in the city. Wednesday, 17 December 2014. While thinking of ways to make the most of our space for our hallway transformation. I lightly sanded then painted the wood with some white primer, and followed with two coats of the same mocha paint that I had chosen for the stripes in the hallway. Then I spaced the bobbins evenly apart along the wood and drilled long enough screws into the bobbin holes so that they reached the wood on the other side (but didn't poke out of the back of the plank). In th...

Faberdashery: Bed-linen revamp
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2015/03/bed-linen-revamp.html
Crafting in the city. Friday, 6 March 2015. I had a beige set of bed linen passed on to me from my Grandma, which was really good quality, but didn't quite go with our bedroom interior. So I dyed the whole set navy, fairly cheaply. And used some spare striped fabric I had lying around to liven up the plain navy. Et voila - stripes are the future! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Faberdashery: Ombre star canvas
http://faberdashery.blogspot.com/2015/01/ombre-star-canvas.html
Crafting in the city. Tuesday, 6 January 2015. My sister has recently moved into her first owned flat in Kent, and so with the new year upon us I thought it would be a perfect time to make her a new home house-warming present! I sneakily collected a selection of paint swatches from various DIY shops:. And used a favourite gadget from my Mum's craft collection. To cut out a colour-themed array of tiny stars, which I grouped in varying shades of blue:. And waited for the glue to dry. Life Update - July 2016.
