Sharing our cats and their tales with each other. Monday, May 16, 2011. Santino just keeps getting more and more handsome! Issey's eyes are so runny.Think I will take him back to the vet, not that anything ever comes from any of our visits there. The diagnosis dujour are "stomatitis" or "allergies". Rudy had all but his "fangs" removed for stomatitis, so no more mouth infections. But, he still still has allergies.That's why he throws up. But, I shouldn't whine. Santino and Sophie are trouble-free kids.

Rudy is the dark lump in the back. He loves to settle in wedged between pillows. He has not cuddled with anyone since Blu, and then Miki, died. Daughter refers to 10 yr. old Nate as "The Cat Whisperer", so I was curious about how it was going to go with me three princes and one princess who are not accustomed to smallish visitors. Rudy was very interested initially, but quickly got bored with having to share attention. To my surprise, my most outgoing kitty hung back. (Rudy has changed. He was still asleep at 11 this morning, oblivious to my voice.).

I took Santino (8#) in because he had a suspicious area on his foot, an area which he would not stop licking. I suspected ringworm since Nate had had it when here, and I wind up with a couple of patches of it myself. Rudy has vomited a whole lot less since I stopped feeding Fancy Feast). And all the world is still,. Gray clouds are appliqued against the sky. Above the white-roofed hill. The firs are richly clad. In ermine robes that gleam. A frosting over hands the river's edge. Where it narrows to a stream. The fence is trimmed with lace. And cotton candy fluff. Each silhouetted rock is softened now.

On Saturday my hubby and oldest son went to a family reunion up in Deer River, and my youngest son Remington tilled while I weeded between the plants. Monday, April 5, 2010. Mosquito Season Coming Soon! Two of my seasonal products I make are "Insect Away" Lotion and "Insect Away" Spray; Herbal and Essential Oil Pest Discouragers! I use the spray on my horse "Greyboy" as he has sensitive Arabian skin and it works wonderfully! I make up a huge spray bottle especially for him. But for now I'm going to share a couple of my main ingredients that make my bug spray so very effective as well as natural and safe! Next I'll post on how to make Yarrow Tincture.

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Finished batch in small mold with dividers. Oils are about half melted. Lye solution cooling in the sink. Tallow, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil on the stove and ready for melting. I also got the floor painted in the back half of the workshop room. What a lovely color. This pic makes the color look more plum than it is. It's actually a more purple color. A dusty purple. I plan on hanging a burlap on the walls in a very bright yellow. Won't this look fabulous? Sunday, March 7, 2010. You Know Spring Is Here When. It's Maple Sapping Time! The guys starting tapping maples yesterday. Remington had tapped our big maple in the front yard on Wednesday which is always our indicator for when the sap is running. Last year we started on March 10th, so yup we are right on schedule.
