There she goes: October 2012
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 1, 2012. Evening comes, as does the dawn. When I returned to Kenya last week, a few people from my community sent notes reminding me to write.“Travel safe and keep writing! 8221; I marvel at how gracious people are given my lack of posts in recent years - they still encourage me, and act as if writing is still something I do frequently. Mostly it’s just exhaustion that has no equal and no sense. What did I do today? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Find me and my pictures here.
There she goes: Day 7: Enterprise
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2015/02/day-7-enterprise.html
Thursday, February 19, 2015. I have always struggled to prioritize writing, but I struggle more these days as I do with most things, and I'm just now beginning to understand why. As age and exposure have granted me a hint of the wisdom required to live a balanced life, such knowledge continues to butt heads with a far more developed, though unintended, reality. I have become an entrepreneur. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Find me and my pictures here. Get my semi-frequent posts by email.

There she goes: Day 10: Rebirth
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2013/04/day-10-rebirth.html
Thursday, April 18, 2013. This remains one of the most challenging parts of a life split between countries, and the general passing of time therein. In a moment, I can indulge in all that I have guarded against - and in another, experience the land and people here as if for the first time. On Tuesday, I drove just 20 minutes from my office to Kiserian, one of many towns in Kenya whose name I've heard countless times, but had yet to visit. As I journeyed up a rock-strewn drive, the Ngong Hills. Draped aro...

Thursday, May 17, 2012. Did you know "sasa" also means "what's up? I suppose when you stop blogging regularly, it serves you right that your blog platform. Ups and changes itself - making the very process of writing a post wildly discombobulating. All that aside - I did. Do some writing recently - although as usual, it is somewhere else. For those who aren't on Facebook and availed to my numerous posts, please take a look at why the work we are doing at Sasa Designs by the Deaf. I'm working on a newslett...
There she goes: Day 30: Maggie
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2010/08/day-30-maggie.html
Sunday, August 22, 2010. Sometimes when we're together I find myself studying the contours of her face to see if I can find marks of the life she's lived. She is a teenager and a woman, a child and a teacher, a friend and a dependent. Maggie came over for a sleepover on Friday night and yesterday when we parted I realized it was my first goodbye. She goes back to school tonight and will be there through her exams in October. I will see her when I return in the Spring (and she'll be a graduate!

Thursday, August 8, 2013. Day 9: The Son. One of the women who attends each week is caught in the struggle of "where to start? And "what does it matter if no one will listen? After book group tonight one of the attendees held back and pulled the pastor aside to ask if he could sleep at the church tonight. He is without a physical home, but like me, has found his church. What a privilege to receive the same welcome and to be able to worship beside him and this community of seeking servants. Day 9: The Son.

Ethical Fashion. Creative Liberty. Shopping Without the Slave Labor. Posted on May 20, 2013. The past couple months have been spent finishing my last semester studying fashion design at UW-Madison. I’ve been working away on some of my own projects, which included a design competition I helped start with local Madison retailer, Change Boutique. The dress I designed and made will be part of an exclusive collection produced by artisans in Uganda through Fair Earth. That if a product is good and doesn’...
There she goes: Daniel
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2010/04/daniel.html
Tuesday, April 6, 2010. For those who doubt in miracles. How cool is this! I had nothing to do with this hand, by the way - just enjoying bearing witness to a new range of opportunities for Daniel. My Rotary club here in Nairobi has raised some money to get a lift for his leg (he was hit by a car last year) and for part of the school fees to help his daughter finish Form 4 - senior year). He was just glowing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Find me and my pictures here. Enter your email address:.
There she goes: Faith in what will be
http://megangoestokenya.blogspot.com/2014/03/faith-in-what-will-be.html
Monday, March 3, 2014. Faith in what will be. Right around a year ago, Maggie. And I got into a major fight. She had been accepted to USIU. Maggie, in a combination of desperation and incredible faith, was ready to move forward - even if it meant that at times she'd have to put her studies on hold while we raised funds. She wanted to start - she was ready to go to University. And crossing every digit and appendage we had. Of our $4,900. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Find me and my pictures here.

Our Fairfax. Sucking all the wisdom from the Royce Team of Frankly Realty. To Flip or Rent? December 4, 2015. Last week Diane closed on a small 2-bedroom condo in Alexandria. We have had this condo under contract since the end of August. It has been a difficult purchase, but we finally closed. Diane and I have been working together for a few years. I go and look at lots of houses for her. They are houses that we think will be a good deal …. Notable Destinations: Angelika Film Center. November 1, 2015.

Amalgamation or stand alone? The State Government is considering amalgamations for NSW councils. The aim is to reduce councils from 41 to 18. The NSW Government has asked Fairfield City Council to comment on the option of amalgamating Fairfield and Liverpool councils. This will create one City with a future estimated population of more than 500,000. Council’s preliminary findings suggest an amalgamation will not benefit its residents and businesses. How do we compare? Estimated Council Debt (Loans).
