Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Remembering those far away. I wanted to share some of the results of our sugary work. I have been meaning to post these for a while, but I thought today would be a good day because as we all get together to share in the season, I think we need to take a moment to think about those who can't be with the people they love. Baker Joy shared this note with her pictures:. Bakern Kim shared this note:. Baker Karen shared this note:. We TORE UP the kitchen yesterday making all kinds...

Hot Stuff in the Kitchen: Cake for 80 - part 1
http://hotstuffinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2008/12/cake-for-80-part-1.html
Monday, December 15, 2008. Cake for 80 - part 1. After weeks of sending my cake class creations to work with Brian, a lovely co-worker of his asked me to make cake for a party she was hosting. It's a retirement party for one of the cancer center's doctors, and I was very honored. She's expecting about 80 people, which is quite an undertaking for a one-woman kitchen. Hot Stuff in the Kitchen: 9 hours of baking
http://hotstuffinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2008/12/9-hours-of-baking.html
Saturday, December 13, 2008. 9 hours of baking. I started my cookie marathon at 9:30 this morning. It's 7:15 and I'm finally sitting down for an extended period of time. I'm exhausted, but I'm glad that it's almost all done (I still have some gingerbread dough in the fridge). The reason for the marathon o' cookies? I am way tired to post the recipes, but here's what I made:. Peanut Butter Bites - they have half of a mini peanut butter cup inside. And the package all ready to go:. Building our new house.

Hot Stuff in the Kitchen: October 2008
http://hotstuffinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Weight watchers turkey chimichangas. I am one week into my new weight watchers regime, and someone posted this recipe earlier and it sounded quite yummy. Well, they are just as yummy as they sounded. In fact, Brian said that this is one of his new favorites. And bonus for me that they're workable on my weight watchers regime! The final cake product. I have been meaning to post these since Monday night, but I was tired that night. And then Tuesday just got away from me. I deci...

Hot Stuff in the Kitchen: Cooking...thousands of miles out of my comfort zone
http://hotstuffinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2009/01/cooking-outside-my-comfort.html
Sunday, January 4, 2009. Cooking.thousands of miles out of my comfort zone. Yesterday I got the idea to make Indian for dinner. I wanted to cook from my Healthy Indian Cookbook. It took a while to get the necessary ingredients, and by the time I got home it was far too late to begin what I knew would be a time-consuming adventure. Like other things I've made recently, once I got going, I had far too much going on to stop and take pictures along the way. The meal was quite tasty, but I made far too much r...

Hot Stuff in the Kitchen: Chicken Piccata with Pasta and Mushrooms
http://hotstuffinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2009/01/chicken-piccata-with-pasta-and.html
Saturday, January 3, 2009. Chicken Piccata with Pasta and Mushrooms. This was my first recipe from this cook book, which I got from a cookbook club (yes I know it's a little dorky - but it was a free trial and I got 5 books for $5). I didn't take pics along the way because you kind of have a lot going on at once, but here's the finished creation. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday Sweets: Dia de los Muertos. Melissa and Brian's Albuquerque Adventures: A busy Sunday
http://melissainabq.blogspot.com/2009/01/busy-sunday.html
Sunday, January 11, 2009. Today we hosted a party for our nephew Keith's 16th birthday. Keith is an excellent guitar player, so I used that for the inspiration for the cake. Then this evening we put one of Brian's Christmas gifts to use. I got him a telescope, but it's just been ridiculously cold in the evenings. So we pushed up to the sliding glass door and then put the camera over the lense piece and got these great pics of the moon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). People who like what I have to say.
