Blue Sky Over Tokyo (written June 24) | Our Japan Trip

https://ourjapantrip.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/blue-sky-over-tokyo-written-june-24

June 29, 2008. Blue Sky Over Tokyo (written June 24). Filed under: Japan Trip. 8212; Andy Mayer @ 7:11 am. Someone listened to my pleas. There was not a single drop of rain today, and the sun shined brightly. Once, we actually crossed to the opposite side of a street to get into the shade! The day started with a lovely 7:00am conference call with EDS. But, when you take a call from a 10. Floor balcony overlooking Tokyo, life isn’t really that bad.). For a 40-minute trip up the Sumida River. Look on a map...

https://ourjapantrip.wordpress.com/2008/07

July 2, 2008. Japan Trip Wrap: Back on Home Soil. Filed under: Japan Trip. 8212; Andy Mayer @ 5:44 pm. I do not want to spend any time philosophizing about Japan or its people or its culture. That’s for the professionals to do. I highly recommend it as a place to visit, for those of you that like international travel and exploring different cultures. The cultural aspects really enthuse me. I did a lot of people-watching over the past two weeks. The ubiquitous drink vending machines. I didn’t get up...

Tokyo Disneyland | Our Japan Trip

https://ourjapantrip.wordpress.com/2008/06/30/tokyo-disneyland

June 30, 2008. Filed under: Japan Trip. 8212; Andy Mayer @ 10:04 am. It’s 11:18pm here outside of Tokyo, and I’m just settling in to post for the day. It’s been a long one. We were up at 6:00am, out the door of my sister’s apartment at 7:45am, at the Hilton Tokyo Bay by 8:45 and in Tokyo Disneyland just after 9:00am. We finally got back to the hotel at 10:20pm and into the room about 25 minutes after that. Phew! Haunted Mansion is in Fantasyland. Star Tours, from Disney Studios, is in Tomorrowland. On th...

Finding Godzilla and Some General Observations (written on June 25) | Our Japan Trip

https://ourjapantrip.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/finding-godzilla-and-some-general-observations-written-on-june-25

June 29, 2008. Finding Godzilla and Some General Observations (written on June 25). Filed under: Japan Trip. 8212; Andy Mayer @ 7:12 am. No rain today again. Cloudy, overcast, humid but no rain. We took the train mid-morning to an area called Ryoguku that is known for two things Sumo Wrestling and the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Century or so through the present. In case you are wondering, Edo. Officially changed its name to Tokyo late in the 19. In 1657 that killed 100,000 people, the Kanto earthquake. That Jessi...

Day Three – A Break in The Rain (written on June 23) | Our Japan Trip

https://ourjapantrip.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/day-three-–-a-break-in-the-rain-written-on-june-23

June 29, 2008. Day Three A Break in The Rain (written on June 23). Filed under: Japan Trip. 8212; Andy Mayer @ 7:09 am. Despite forecasts, we only had a smidgen of rain today, and, in general, none that prevented any of the sightseeing we did. In fact, until we took a drive outside of Tokyo for dinner, we had only felt intermittent drops all day. I guess someone was listening to my complaints. The forecast for tomorrow shows an 80% chance of rain. So much for the break. Our first stop was the Meiji Shrine.

Health, Diet and Exercise. Other Sites I Like. August 26, 2012. And so launches of my campaign to introduce “Surgical Shopping” into the mix for a future Olympic competition. Frankly, I want a competition I can win. After all, how many people can try on four blue blazers, settle on a $500 model, and buy it. Surgical Shopping is the sport of purchasing an item in a public shopping mall or big box store with the appropriate combination of speed, cost, quality, and intangibles. There are two variations:.

Health, Diet and Exercise. Other Sites I Like. The Fully Transparent Diet Down 7lbs. After Seven Weeks. December 20, 2010. Last Thursday, I made my weight by the skin of my teeth. I weighed 186.2, down exactly 7 pounds after seven weeks. Still on pace. Thumbs Up for Week Seven. I knew I was going to have problems, and I worked my tail off (almost literally) in the days before Wednesday night. Wednesday night, I took my team out to Maggiano’s. I continue to believe that losing a pound per week is a perfec...

The rest got spit out! Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Kaito had a great first Easter. Here he is with his Easter basket before heading to church. He nearly got some of the grass from his basket into his mouth! He's getting quick. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Saturday, March 3, 2012. Kaito goes to Asakusa.

Our Jar

My journey making a new friend, my struggle to balance friendship and a brotherly bond. These are my invaluable experiences. This blog is intended to organize my feelings as I begin my friendship with my new little. Who I will call Tommy for the purpose of this blog. My friend gave me a jar to put on my shelf where I could place my most valued ideas. I should just screw off the top and there in I would plop all of my thoughts. They would cascade into this jar of mine, whirling and spinning around. My pan...
