History of the Parish. Until 1958, the area covered by Our Lady’s Parish was part of St Peter, Leamington Spa. Then a separate parish was founded. St Teresa’s, Cubbington, had existed for some time: an ex-army hut at the top of Windmill Hill. Also, Mass had been celebrated at the Lillington Community Centre. Fr Thornton was followed as Parish Priest by Rev. John McMorrow, Rev. Anthony Brisland, Rev. Liam O’Connor, Rev. Patrick Farrelly and Rev. Laurence Crowe. Registered Charity No. 234216.

Our Lady’s Parish comprises: Lillington, an ancient village, now a suburb of Leamington Spa; Cubbington, until fairly recently a distinct village, now extending from Lillington to the open country, and Offchurch, a village standing in fields, having as part of its border the Fosse Way, once the boundary of the Roman Empire. The windows in Our Lady’s are truly special to behold. These windows, or rather glass walls, are by Dom Charles Norris OSB. They are of one-inch thick slab glass set in concrete. The glass itself was imported from France. The mostly abstract design represents the central Christian themes - Creation, Incarnation and Grace. The very rich and vibrant colours make for a beautiful interior in the summer sunshine, and a beautiful exterior on dark winter nights when the windows are lit from within.

KINDAID is the fund-raising group at Our Lady’s Church. We organise fund-raising social events in the Parish during the year. Money raised is then distributed amongst the needy throughout the world. Our main beneficiary is an orphanage in Kenya, run by an order of Italian sisters with whom we correspond regularly. One of the sisters visited the Parish during 2003.
