our life on the plains

Saturday, November 5, 2011. I'm back. i promise. Vacation from the blog, I plan on getting back in the swing of things. There have been some major developments that make our life here on the plains a wee bit more interesting. Here's a quick rundown. More details to come! We've moved (across town)! Liam and I bought our first home this summer and moved in over Fourth of July weekend. We love having a place to call our home. We're expecting our first child any day now - as in, Boy Howdy's due on Tuesday!

Faith Moving: December 2011

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 9, 2011. Is that a stretch mark I see? So I was laying in bed the other day and had an itchy tummy, near my abdomen. So I itched it. Mid itch I remembered.itchy tummy.preggo.DUN DUN DUN! She needs to get over it! I'm over it. As a matter of fact, I was never really.under it? But who am I kidding? When in the last 9 months has my body cared what Sara thought? So here I am, in what I feel (hope) is the final stretch (no pun intended) of the never-ending pregnancy journey. 2a (1) : belief a...

Faith Moving: April 2012

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 28, 2012. What am I doing here? A stay at home mom. Oh how lovely! Time to cook dinner and get you your bath. Now, sssshhhhhh, Night night, baby! How pretty. How.suburban. How Truman Show-ish. How fake. This doesn't happen, but this is what I thought happened. Or thought should? What am I doing? I love my daughter, she is my heart and soul. But is this what I'm doing now? My husband tells me that I have the most important job in life: to raise our children, when I ask is this all I am?

Faith Moving: May 2012

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 24, 2012. What I Like About You. I had lunch with an old friend yesterday and it was the first time she had met Mina, and Sara, as a mommy. We spent our time talking about social work, crazy jobs, crazy people, and being mommies. As we were talking about mommy-hood, she asked me what my favorite thing about being a mom was, what I loved the most. A simple question. Or is it? Psshhhh, I dunno? Was my first reaction. Then, "I love everything about it! Most things, I love. Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Faith Moving: Geez Louise!

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2012/03/geez-louise.html

Sunday, March 11, 2012. Hi, my name is Sara. Remember me? Healthy and perfect as can be! However, things are starting to slow down. Miss Mina Louise (now I get your title, Sara) is beginning to settle into somewhat of a sleeping schedule, thank you Jesus, and is usually counting sheep by 8 pm these days. 8 pm? What in God's green Earth shall a new mommy do with 2-3 hours of free time in the evening? The no brainer: Is she breathing? Is she swaddled too tight? Did she get enough to eat today? I've probabl...

Faith Moving: Every Knee Shall Bow

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2012/05/every-knee-shall-bow.html

Sunday, May 13, 2012. Every Knee Shall Bow. Here I am, back to God. Back to my discussion, back to my search. Of course I would always come back, right? My blog tonight is inspired by a longtime dear friend, Pam, who has been dealt a heavy heavy blow this year. Recently we chatted about her heart, and what God has to do with it. How could He do nothing? Pam taught me that is OK to question. To be angry. To stand up and walk away. God can handle it. But eventually, every knee shall bow. Thanks PJ. I h...

Faith Moving: Can't she be something yummier than an eggplant?

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2011/10/cant-she-be-something-yummier-than.html

Friday, October 14, 2011. Can't she be something yummier than an eggplant? I am officially.HUGE. I am not going to say I'm FAT because every time I use the word fat, or tub of lard (hehe) or whatever word that best describes how I'm feeling at the moment, people's first response is."You aren't FAT! Duh people. :) Every time I see myself in the mirror I am shocked. I keep saying."I didn't know it was going to be like this." "What is happening to me? There is no way I can get bigger than this! 3 A spray ta...

Faith Moving: March 2011

http://faithmovingsara.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 28, 2011. Let Go (Let God? If that title of a blog doesn't catch your attention, I don't know what will! I didn't title this blog, however, for it's eye-catching appeal, I titled it this simply because I'm heading there. When I hear this somewhat cheesy phrase, "Let Go, Let God," I think a few things, "UGH THAT IS SO CHEESY." is a big one, we know, another one would be, sounds like someone is trying to tell me to surrender. Surrender to what? God, I would imagine. Why couldn't it be? Why wo...

Our life on standby. A couple's journey from long distance to no distance. Don’t eat the ice! In On the Road. July 18, 2014. Monkey Beach, Koh Phi Phi, Thailand. 1 Don’t eat the ice. I often pictured my worst fear in Southeast Asia: feeling that gurgle in my stomach, rushing to the bathroom of our hot hostel room, trying to lock a door that is basically nothing more than a saloon door — my new(ish) boyfriend just a few feet away on the other side — and finding the dreaded squatty potty! Our Life on the Road

Our Life on the Road. In the Spring of 2006, we sold our house, our truck, and a number of our possessions. We put everything else in storage, bought a 30-foot motor home, and hit the road to travel around the US for a year. One of our goals was to visit all 46 of the National Parks in the Lower 48. Since this site has been primarily for family and friends, most people who visit will know who we are. For the curious or the truly bored, click About Us. To learn more about us.
