TX Runner Mom: Hell Month - Week 1
http://txrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2015/04/hell-month-week-1.html
Monday, April 06, 2015. Hell Month - Week 1. In case you're wondering, "Hell Month" in the world of Ironman Texas training is the month of April. It's basically the last few weeks leading up to the taper for IMTX, which are typically some of the longest workouts of the training cycle. I don't think any workout from here on out is less than a hour and 15 minutes and the weekend workouts are some of the longest yet. On Saturday, I rode my first ever century ride! But, we survived! So there were hills and t...

Journey to 26.2: Disney Marathon Weekend Recap - Race Day
http://journeyto26pointtwo.blogspot.com/2010/01/disney-marathon-weekend-recap-race-day.html
Journey to 26.2. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Disney Marathon Weekend Recap - Race Day. Suddenly, race morning was here. Woke up at 2:40. Since when did that become a time to wake up and run rather than crawl home and go to bed? We wrapped up in mylar blankets, got our medals and some refreshments, and quickly retreated to the car in search of warmth. We successfully finished the journey we started together months ago, and one I never could have envisioned doing without them. January 17, 2010 at 7:32 PM.

Join me on my journey! Beachside Half Marathon race recap. October 18, 2012. This evening I participated in a virtual 5K called the Cupcake Classic. It was organized by Run with Jess. I took this photo during the 5K. Beautiful! I like bling, especially cute bling). If the race benefits a charity, most of the race fee goes to that charity because there are hardly any of the overhead costs that are normally associated with a race. Some races, including the Cupcake Classic, also have drawings for pr...IR...

Journey to 26.2: November 2014
http://journeyto26pointtwo.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Journey to 26.2. Sunday, November 23, 2014. My love/hate relationship with running. Running is a much a mental sport as it is a physical one, just as it is a team sport rather than just an individual one. My experiences while training for the Wineglass Marathon, and race day itself, were reminders of this. I began to no longer care. I was determined to get my long runs in since I knew there was no way I could go into a marathon without them, but the rest of my training suffered. Why was I craving company?

Journey to 26.2: December 2013

Journey to 26.2. Saturday, December 28, 2013. Fall 2013 Race Recap. Once I got back into town it was crunch time to prep for the Baltimore 1/2 after over a week of gluttony and laziness aka relaxing. A ten mile training run in unseasonably warm weather the weekend prior to the race gave me some great confidence. The Slurpee reward helped, too. This was probably the strongest race I'd done since 2011, before I was sidelined with planter fasciitis. After everyone was done, we headed out for celebratory...

Journey to 26.2. Saturday, November 20, 2010. Marine Corps Marathon 2010. The short short version of the story is that it was a perfect day. The weather was gorgeous, the support on the course amazing, and I found out that I am capable of things I never thought or imagined I was. My final time was 6:04:35, nearly one hour faster than January's race in Disney. The crowd support leaving Georgetown and crossing into DC was awesome! Labels: marine corps marathon.
