Our Window on Nature. Exploring the world around us. Laquo; It’s An Acorn Tree. Desert Rip Van Winkle. 8212; Lowell Christie - July 7, 2015 @ 12:34 pm. We spend a lot of time watching the sky. Halos and arcs that form in the sky usually have similar rainbow colors because the basic process is the same. Other light displays, such as sun pillars, are cause by reflections of light off the flat surface of masses of ice crystals. These tend to assume the color characteristics of the light source, beco...We’ll...

Hot biscuits wouldn’t be nearly as tasty without a liberal layer of honey, and this is the time of year when the local bees get back to work creating more of that magical syrup. After breakfast this morning we did a quick calculation. We just ate the equivalent of the lifetime production of several dozen […]. Pinpoints of light danc...

Our Window on Nature. Exploring the world around us. Laquo; Summer’s Flashing Fireflies. Left-Handed Plants And Right-Handed Snails. 8212; Lowell Christie - July 30, 2015 @ 8:11 pm. On one of our favorite walks. The slightest breeze brings the sounds of a flowing mountain spring. But thirsty as we may be, we no longer bother looking for moving water. It’s actually the flutter of aspen leaves set trembling by air currents passing by. An aspen grove isn’t just a collection of pretty trees; it’s actually a ...

Our Window on Nature. Exploring the world around us. Laquo; Sundogs and Moonbows. Summer’s Flashing Fireflies. Desert Rip Van Winkle. 8212; Lowell Christie - July 17, 2015 @ 11:52 am. A desert in early July. Right there in the campground? Heat-induced madness or minor miracle? What a miracle of nature they are – terrestrial animals that see daylight for only eight to 10 percent of their lives. But that’s what it takes for toads to survive in the desert. Wednesday, October 02, 2013. It's good to look back at our summer. August was a busy month! Baseball in the backyard, camping at Watkin's Glen State Park, visit to the Corning Museum of Glass, Seneca Lake, Ithaca and Buttermilk Falls, go cart rides, trip to BC for me and Abigail, my brother's wedding, lemonade stand and school preparation. It was a great month filled with incredible memories. Sunday, September 22, 2013. Friday, August 02, 2013. Thursday, August 01, 2013. So, our May looked like this....

Each week a new diptych will be posted based on a theme of some kind. These images will never be planned and the result will always be something of an unexpected occurrence, two visions colliding into one. The idea is to create little pieces of art that combine two perspectives on the world into one cohesive statement. We hope you enjoy! June 21, 2011. Laquo; Older Entries. Valid XHTML 1.1.

窗 WS-Windows OP

Just another WordPress.com site. A visit from Finland, and prom. Posted by l6blue in Uncategorized. Tagged: lake of the isles. We’ve had a busy few weeks. Pirita at Lake of the Isles. Her dress is pink, and she wants my vest and my tie to match her dress. Oh, my God. I am not wearing PINK! Do you think these pimples will be gone by the time I have my prom photos? My skin was never this bad before. I’m going to start eating better. We have the best prom pictures on Facebook. I’m not gonna lie. In the Euro...
