It involves turning the bells through a full circle using a rope attached to a wheel. As well as being an enjoyable and challenging pastime, it provides a good opportunity to socialise and make new friends, especially if you like going to pubs. So, how do you get started then? We've produced a page, showing ringing in action.

The Oxford Society of Change Ringers. Great Tom in Tom Tower. St Mary the Virgin. St Mary the Virgin. Also known as the University Church, SMV is often described as being the most visited parish church in England. The bells are from a number of founders, cast between 1611 and 1894 and the fourth has two bands of music encircling it as part of its inscription.
