Outside in W.A.: December 2005

http://www.outsideinwa.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Outside in W.A. Sunday, December 04, 2005. After another night of cold temperatures and 6 inches of fresh powder, I sampled one of the local mountains just an hour away from the house. With low snow levels the drive was a beautiful winter wonderland cruise up interstate 90. The Subaru was put through her paces as the road became first slushy and then hard packed snow. Outside in W.A.: Last day of skiing and snowboarding

http://www.outsideinwa.blogspot.com/2006/05/last-day-of-skiing-and-snowboarding.html

Outside in W.A. Thursday, May 04, 2006. Last day of skiing and snowboarding. It was such a pleasure watching her speed down the mountain. I constantly had to tell her to slow down. We stuck to the same trail all day, apart from one occassion when we became a little too adventurous and ended up having to walk down the mountain! A wonderful day was topped off by a freshly cooked meal at home. See the photoshow on our photo page. Posted by Shano @ 9:46 AM. Whistler-Blackcomb, BC, Canada.

Outside in W.A. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Let The Snowboarding Begin! I had been dreaming of my first snowboarding trip in the Northwest for years. After weeks of cold weather and a nice early season snow base, I took off with my friend Brian to the home of snowboarding - Mt. Baker in north Washington state. Dave and Mike, a couple of seasoned snow riders and friends of Brian, were up there also and took us all over the mountain completely oblivious to difficulty level signs. Given that most of Bak...

http://www.outsideinwa.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Outside in W.A. Monday, May 22, 2006. Mountain Biking the Tiger Mountain Trail. I took off Sunday morning for my first real mountain bike trail. After getting familiar with my new bike I decided to break her (and myself) in on the local trail 45 minutes from the house. It was a 13 mile loop trail. The first 3 1/2 miles are a vertical climb gaining 1500ft in elevation. After. I can now offically declare that this sport is as great as snowboarding! Posted by Shano @ 10:50 PM. A collection of thoughts and writings since my arrival in Seattle 2005. Sunday, August 21, 2005. Never thought I'd welcome rain. After about 6 weeks of sun and heat we finally had a day, well morning to be precise, of good old Seattle rain. We went down to Pike Place Market in downtown to check out one of the city's major tourist attractions. It's the place where those fishmonger guys throw huge fish at each other and all the Japanese tourists find it hilariously amusing! Posted by Shano at 10:42 PM.

A collection of thoughts and writings since my arrival in Seattle 2005. Friday, July 29, 2005. Well, today I officially became a Washington State resident. After three weeks of browsing over the drivers handbook and fretting over the possibility of failing the multiple choice questionnaire, I arrived at the driving test center to learn I didn't even have to take a written test providing my California license checked out. Bybye California I.D. / drivers license, hello Washington state! One word - VOTE.

Friday - Took the day off to dry wall one side of Muirenn's room, the side that literally 'fell off' when Lisa started painting (long story). Finished at midnight. Saturday - Up at 6 to finish the dry-wall before starting the move. Job done by 10:00 am just in time for Mikel to drop his truck round.
