Useless Information Overload~: Why is the clockwise direction in a clockwise direction?
http://triviatriviatrivia.blogspot.com/2007/09/why-is-clockwise-direction-in-clockwise.html
Saturday, September 29, 2007. Why is the clockwise direction in a clockwise direction? Ever wondered why clocks go in a certain direction? There's actually a reason for this! Clocks were first made in the northern hemisphere where the sundial goes in the direction we now call clockwise direction. Hence, when they made clocks, they made it so that the needle would follow the direction of the shadow of the sundial. Xae educated at 12:50 PM. Education has never been easier! Life of a pot. Useless Information Overload~: Why does the moon have phases?
http://triviatriviatrivia.blogspot.com/2007/10/why-do-moon-have-phases.html
Wednesday, October 03, 2007. Why does the moon have phases? Notice that when you look at the moon, it looks round on some days and on other days, it looks like a boomerbang or like a half of a pizza (yes i'm hungry). Those are, crudely explaining it, the phases of the moon. So what's going on? Again, this is a concept that's difficult to explain using words, so here's a site. With diagrams to explain. Do read about it and teach others about the correct reasoning! Labels: moon phases misconceptions.
