Tales from Kwanzan: March 2012
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Saturday, March 31, 2012. The secret life of rocks. So, here you see our rocks; stream bed leading from the down spout; drought-tolerant, native plants; and rustic, period lamp post. Now Judy’s only concern was that the neighborhood kids would walk off with all of our pretty rocks. Yeah, right. As if. They proceeded to consider my streambed and random accent stones. They would pick one up, examine it from all angles, and then carefully place it down some...

Tales from Kwanzan: Setting the record straight
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2011/03/setting-record-straight.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Setting the record straight. Today I caught up on my sister’s blog. 8221; Her genes kicked in (she gets it through both the Christensen and Wheat sides {recessive in Judy}) and has become a buttermilk lover. When she is home and we have buttermilk in the refrigerator, we remind her that it is liquid gold and reserved for breakfast ingredients, but we’ll let her have some when we need a favor. March 13, 2011 at 7:50 PM. March 14, 2011 ...

Tales from Kwanzan: May 2010
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Monday, May 31, 2010. Day 2: Endless Things. Sunday morning was educational. I rarely take time to look at what I have and if I really need it. Transferring all of our trip possessions from one van to the other made us consider what was really necessary, if not in life at least in a trip to Alabama. And really, we were overloaded. What do we really need in life? 8221; A few minutes later I unfolded it from the floor, which gave us even more space. Pine Bluff...

Tales from Kwanzan: March 2010
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Monday, March 8, 2010. It’s Kyle’s birthday today, so I wanted to do a little tribute for him, like all of you do for your kids on their birthdays, but then I became overwhelmed by all of the pictures we have and couldn’t decide where to start. He was the largest of our children, and continued that way until he entered preschool. Now he is one of our thinnest. He loves spending time with his brothers and sister. Well, most of the time. He’s stretched h...

Tales from Kwanzan: December 2009
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Sunday, December 20, 2009. Pictures from another time. I spent a month scanning in pictures, so I've got to do something with them. Remember when Thistle, Utah was replaced by a lake? Not very many people were able to see it, but because I was working for the county at the time, I was able to see it from the landslide itself (on my last day of work, no less). The lake was acually wider than this stitched picture makes it look. Dad and Lia in 1992. We were th...

Compressed Earth Block Shop and Home, Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. Luther tries to chronicle the building of his compressed earth block (CEB) shop and home in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. Finally, A Few Compressed Earth Blocks. Wednesday, June 06, 2007. Finally, A Few Compressed Earth Blocks. We've still been having heavy rains, so after this picture was taken, I graded around the beam, covering the exposed gravel of the rubble trench and sloping the dirt away from the foundation. Upon returning to New Mexic...

Tales from Kwanzan: February 2010
http://kwanzan.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Something that sounds, like, totally profound. Sunday, February 28, 2010. Yesterday Berrett got a couple of letters from VIPs, which reminded me that I never got to the point of actually blogging his great accomplishment this year. Yes, Berrett is an Eagle Scout now. His Eagle project was to put in a low-ropes course at Trefoil Girl Scouts Ranch (it’s a camp for girls, not a place where they herd girls). He does look kind of happy, doesn’t he?
