Private Owner Downunder - the story of a Vintage Velo Racer

I first saw a Velocette Thruxton in 1970. As an impressionable 15 year old, I followed Dad over to chat to its owner. After that I was hooked on Velocettes. I was just 19 when I test rode VMT457 before Dad bought her in 1975. I've been riding her more or less continuously ever since. In 2001 a '39 MAC that had lived in boxes for 20 years became my pre-war road racer. What follows is a chronicle of a life spent riding, fixing and racing Velos. BTW, apologies to L.R Higgins.
