On Thursday April 30th the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) finshed many of the repairs to the Moody Streeet dam in Waltham. This along with increased flow to the Charles River has resulted in a considerable rise in the water levels of the lakes district of the Charles River between Rout 16 in Wellesley and Moody Street in Waltham. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Update On Water Levels in the Lakes District of the Charles River. At our Newton location, it is very shallow at the dock. The water increases in depth towards the middle of the river and is navigable upriver to the Concord street / Park road bridge.
