Thursday, July 7, 2011. 75, 95, 115, 125, 145. I honestly think I should've maybe gone 135 and then tried 150, cause the 145 wasn't nearly difficult enough. We ran out of time, though, so 145 it is. 10 push press (65 for me). 10 pullups (chest to bar for me). 10 box jumps (20"). Skill: Hang power clean. Still struggling with the hang, but I'm pretty sure 113 is a PR for this movement for me, so that's nice. Clean and jerk @ 93# - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2. After a hectic morning (note to self: do not try to fit new cleats/shoes at 6:30 in the morning), I made it out the door only to be foiled by a flat tire near Ocean St. I'm pretty adept at changing tires, even on the roadside, but when I discovered that my spare tube also had a leak I was plumb out of luck. I made up for it on a lunchtime ride, hitting Glenwood Drive up to here:. Home via Granite Creek and Branciforte Drive, then down by the water, enjoying Santa Cruz sunshine.

Monday, August 30, 2010. Some serious kind of tired. 6 am - 1st class in the new box and it RULED. Shoulder to Overhead - any way you want - 2 RM. Interspersed with 3 sets of max pullups. I picked the split jerk (I've only done these a couple of times and need all the practice I can get). 63, 73, 83, 93, 103. The jerks felt pretty wonky, but since I have no sense for the movement or timing, I was pretty happy to just get them done. And one more babystep on my way to being fit. Sunday, August 29, 2010.

Sunday, October 31, 2010. Oh, look I did something over the weekend! When Jason annouced this wod, he saw how quickly I realized that this was 50 burpees. Apparently it was all over my face. It feels super-duper to start round 2 after those burpees and then by round 5 you are agonizing over every single one. Work to a heavy single, with no chance to miss. At 243, I started to noticably slow down, so I decided that was my last attempt before I'd honestly wonder if I would make it back up without a spotter.
