beyond bag of frames: March 2008
http://beyondbagofframes.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Beyond bag of frames. Improving content-based music recommendation. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Homogenization of NICM by covariance. Artist R-precision increased for both homogenization (I'm not attempting another table):. Compared to the un-homogenized 32.27% (different than the last post because of some meta-data clean-up). Differences are significant under the Wilcoxon test (p-values 0). Seems the hubness increases though. Of hubs (100-occurrences greater than 200):. 105 for no homo. 121 for no homo.

beyond bag of frames: North Indian Classical Music dataset
http://beyondbagofframes.blogspot.com/2008/03/north-indian-classical-music-dataset.html
Beyond bag of frames. Improving content-based music recommendation. Thursday, March 13, 2008. North Indian Classical Music dataset. To compare against results from the uspop dataset. We put together a set of North Indian classical music (NICM) and ran it through the same CBR fun. This was done with my advisor, Parag Chordia. Who's done a lot of work with MIR and Indian music. In all, there are 897 tracks from 141 artists. I used a k-NN classifier with leave-one-out cross-validation, in the same way Elias.

iToogle.fm: ISMIR 2008: Day 1 - Tutorials
http://itooglefm.blogspot.com/2008/09/ismir-2008-day-1-tutorials.html
Sunday, September 14, 2008. ISMIR 2008: Day 1 - Tutorials. I really should get more rest before ISMIR. But even with only three hours of sleep the night before, I was rivoted by the tutorial on social tags given by Paul Lamere. 160;I was a bit curious as to what the new content would be since tags was a central theme in the tutorial last year on music recommendation. And Paul Lamere. I was happy to see that Lamere and Pampalk discussed their recent findings on how tags are used. View my complete profile.
