Pan African Programme: The Cultured Chimpanzee. A combination of field and laboratory methods are combined to answer some of the following questions:. Under which socio-demographic and ecological conditions is meat consumption likely to increase in frequency? Under which conditions does diversification of behaviour emerge? Under which conditions does tool use complexity increase. Vegetation (Seasonal fruit availability). Phenology: Revisits of selected trees. Camera traps, line transects.

The CHIMP and SEE Blog. Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Let's take a look at how some of the other primates we've seen on Chimp and See get around. For each species below, we'll look at their most common form of locomotion. They get most of their power from strong legs, which are much longer than their arms. Since they're a bit hard to see in the black and white videos, here are a couple pictures to help familiarize you with these primates. Potto photo credit: Josh More. Galago photo credit: Wegmann. Pan African great ape population surveillance | Our Mission

Pan African Programme: The Cultured Chimpanzee. The Pan African Programme (PanAf). The evolutionary-ecological drivers that have generated the behavioral diversity in chimpanzee populations are still largely unknown. Progress towards a better understanding of these diversification processes is currently constrained by the small number of field sites at which chimpanzees are studied. Potential explanatory variables, related to resource availability, historic landscape effects, predation and diseas...
