Angry Fungus: December 2012
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 10, 2012. Old Cardboard Miniature Art. Back in my college days, we were all too poor to afford decent miniatures for our RPG game. We used whatever we could, and - being an art student - I was tasked with making some minis. For some unknown reason, in the intervening twenty years, those cardboard minis got stored away with my Christmas decorations. I see them every year, and go "Oh, look at these! Then put them away again 'til next year. Minis shown at scale. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Angry Fungus: June 2012
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. An orc shaman that I'd been noodling around with. I had a lot of fun on the outfit for this guy, what with the antlers and boar's head spaulder. I also wanted to give him an offbeat weapon, rather than the de rigeur staff. From what I understand, it takes a lot of skill and finesse to properly manage a staff, and I figured any self-respecting orc would want something a little more visceral. Hence the shillelagh. Angry Fungus: Work in Progress
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2015/02/work-in-progress.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Something I've been working on. I'm going with a very detailed underpainting and hope to be able to use a light touch on the colors. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My work draws inspiration from the high-fantasy style of classic D&D illustrations, with a dash of comic book. I try to inject my figures with personality and humor, and always look for an offbeat take on a subject. Im typically available for commissions of any size, so feel free to contact me! Angry Fungus: April 2013
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 13, 2013. Here's a nearly-complete greyscale for a commission I'm working on. I'm really holding myself back from adding color, and trying to get the thing as complete as possible before adding color. I don't normally work that way: it's usually a much more chaotic process. But being able to just focus on values, anatomy, and costume design without fretting over color certainly makes this part a lot easier. My fear now is that as I add color I'll end up painting over everything. The Vault...

Angry Fungus: Another Critter
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2015/02/another-critter.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Another creature for the same project. The client isn't particular about consistency, so I took a much looser style for this one, which is more natural for me. Angry Fungus: May 2013
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 19, 2013. Pira the Ifrit Sorceress. It's been a few weeks since I finished that last character commission. Here's the final result. The hair was fun and interesting to work on, but I realized as I began painting it that I'd failed to account for it as a light source in my drawing. So I had to re-work a lot of the lighting in the image. Anyway, the challenge theme was Fantasy Thief. Fig 1: The Fixer preliminary sketch. Fig2: The Fixer, second revision. Fig3: The Fixer, underpainting. The final...

Angry Fungus: August 2012
http://angryfungus.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 11, 2012. Yeesh It's been a while since I posted here. I've got several things in progress, but here's some fan art of Harley Quinn that I finished a few weeks ago. It started with a desire to do a very exaggerated pose, and ended up as this semi-pornographic version of Ms. Quinn. Harley Quinn: pre-New 52, post clothing. Isn't, so if you don't already own it, go get it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Computer translates hand-drawn form modeling. PAAC ART the blog.
