An affordable place in the sun. Posted in politics and incidents. The UK has been hit by torrential rain and gales. Houses by the sea front in Aberdeen have been smothered in sea foam. The you tube video of a spaniel plunging around in it and barking at the BBC cameraman has lightened the news of more flooding in Yorkshire, evacuations and damage to homes. If only we could swop weather for a couple of days. The Nile keeps the city of 4 million supplied with water – no hosepipe bans here. TEFL in the Gulf.

The big one, Caspar is a Shirazi breed, similar to a Persian without the squashed face. The coffee cream one, Tola, is a French Persian. They are placid, fluffy and impossibly spoilt. Why do Egyptians not love these beautiful, intelligent, affectionate cats? Egypt is favoured by many animal charities for a reason....
