Flying by the seat of my pants since 1961. Heeeeeeere’s the Holy Spirit. June 5, 2014. Sermon for June 8, 2014. Texts – Acts 2:1-21, John 20:19-23, 1 Corinthians12:3b-13. I find that Lutherans talk mostly about Jesus. As Mark Allen Powell puts it, “We’re very Jesusy people.” We claim to be Trinitarian in our theology, and defend that label proudly. But when it comes to the topics we like to preach about and study I think the breakdown looks something like this:. God the Father 7.65%. The Holy Spirit is b...

Flying by the seat of my pants since 1961. Thoughts on Starting a Blog. May 20, 2014. I enjoy reading a few blogs, but I try to be discriminating in my choices. I want content that will be uplifting and encouraging, too many blogs seem to be filled with rants about how unfair life is, they are just depressing. I like blogs by people I know like my friend Allan Stellar http:/ paradisefrommyporch.blogspot.com/. Even though sometimes he rants he’s my friend so I can overlook that. Reply: Allan doesn’t.

Glorifying God | Pastor Scot McCluskey
https://pastorscot.com/2014/06/01/glorifying-god
Flying by the seat of my pants since 1961. June 1, 2014. Sermon for June 1, 2014; Seventh Sunday of Easter. Texts: John 17:1-11, Acts 1:6-14. That’s what it takes to achieve at the level where true glory dwells, at least in this world. You stand on the top step, wrap yourself in the flag and have the gold medal placed around your neck, and all eyes are on you. Jesus is gathered with his disciples in the upper room following the last supper, and he prays about glory. (John 17:1b-4). In Acts 1 we read the ...

I have played with praise teams, and polka bands for worship. I enjoy worship in all its fullness and diversity. Really the answer is simple: It’s …. wait for it …. 8221; And she knew this because she was not only in worship EVERY Sunday; but, at age 70 when her Lutheran Church needed a secretary she volunteered...
