Altare Dei: December 2007

Friday, December 21, 2007. AN ALL-FEMALE committee representing the Anglican Church's Melbourne diocese has recommended that abortion be decriminalised, in what is believed to be the first official approval of abortion by Australian Anglicans. The diocese was one of 40 church, medical and community groups who made confidential submissions to the Victorian Law Reform Commission, which is reviewing state abortion laws. According to the commission, there were also more than 500 written submissions. After th...

The Rockin Traddy ~ Life in the Diocese of Scranton: April 2014

Saturday, April 19, 2014. Homosexuality and the Church - Diocese of Scranton. Recently, it was suggested by a reader of this blog that for the last 1,000 years or so, the Church in her wisdom has been "awakening to the philosophy of human justice" where the practice of homosexuality is concerned. Well, my friend, lets just see what the Church has been saying about these perversions for the last 2,000 years and see how the first thousand years contrasts with the last, the so-called "awakening". Saint Pius...

The Rockin Traddy ~ Life in the Diocese of Scranton: Altavilla - more revelations - Diocese of Scranton
http://rockintraddy.blogspot.com/2014/04/altavilla-more-revelations-diocese-of.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Altavilla - more revelations - Diocese of Scranton. Well, two weeks ago you'll remember police arrested Rev. Philip Altavilla, front man at the flagship church of the Diocese, Saint Peter's Cathedral. Reportedly he was arrested for fondling a 13 year old girls feet and giving her alcohol in the late 90's. Apparently, he told police that he suffers from a "foot fetish". Well, now we learn the good reverend has other interests as well. And this is how he receives sexual satisfaction.

A World Incalculable

Thursday, June 26, 2008. I don't like arrogance, stupidity, selfishness, and a multitude of other vices, but I can tolerate them. Not in myself, perhaps, but I'll put up with them in others. But lack of charity? Chesterton was also very intolerant of uncharitableness. However he didn't practice it regardless, the way I do. A sweeter, kinder, more compassionate man there never was. Definitely he loved to tease his friends, and to fake malice in good fun, but he was never mean. We both display a disturbing...

The Rockin Traddy ~ Life in the Diocese of Scranton: Maundy Thursday - Diocese of Scranton
http://rockintraddy.blogspot.com/2013/03/maundy-thursday-diocese-of-scranton.html
Thursday, March 28, 2013. Maundy Thursday - Diocese of Scranton. As for today's liturgies, in the morning, the local Bishop will offer a special Chrism Mass (notmn this diocese, however) during which blesses the oils used in Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Unction, and the consecration of Altars and churches. And, of course, tomorrow's Matins and Lauds may be read as part of the "tenebrae service". Posted by The Rockin' Traddy. Labels: Diocese of Scranton. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Quote of...

The Last Bastion of Tradition: June 2009

The Last Bastion of Tradition. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. I want to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart. The Knights of Columbus. I have had the honor and privilege of being a Knight almost as long as I have been Catholic. I think I have been a Catholic a little less than a week longer than a Knight.as a convert, I always knew I wanted to be a Knight. Currently, I serve as the Deputy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where is the Honor of Yesteryear? The Papal Coat of Arms.
