When most people think of views over Paris, they think of the thousand-foot Eiffel Tower, or the top of Montmartre. I beg to differ. My favorite perspectives are the ones I get from about twenty feet in the air. At this level, invisible to those below, I see the detail of life on the street, plus sights not available at ground level. How to get this point of view? Strolling the elevated walkway.

Lundi 22 décembre 2008. Pas vraiment la France et pas ailleurs non plus. On n’est pas à Paris, pas au Maghreb, pas en Afrique. Malgré la boulangerie et les boucheries hallal. Pas en Turquie et bientôt pas en Pologne. Pas l’Europe de l’Est, pas le Québec. Mais un peu de tous ces pas mis ensemble. Tous ces accents mis ensemble. De toute façon c’est la banlieue. Donc ce n’est pas vraiment Paris. C’est surtout l’Île-de-France. Mais ce n’est surtout pas Neuilly. Pas Montrouge non plus. Pour être comme ça.
