From The Jardin Encantado: Is That an Eagle, Sparrow or Crow?
http://thejardinencantado.blogspot.com/2015/03/is-that-eagle-sparrow-or-crow.html
From The Jardin Encantado. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Is That an Eagle, Sparrow or Crow? Few phone calls from time to time asking for an identification of a certain bird. The phone call goes something like this: "I have a little brown bird in my yard. Do you know what it is? Swans, geese, ducks and duck-like birds. Shorebirds and small waders. Owls and other nocturnal birds. Chickadees, nuthatches, wrens. Tanagers, grosbeaks, buntings. Size – How big or small is the bird? Is the body short or long? Is it...

From The Jardin Encantado. Thursday, July 10, 2014. It Is All About Attraction. Gardeners are delighted to see "nature" visiting their gardens. If you want to invite more of these visitors to yours, try adding their favorite plants. As with all beneficial species, it is best to choose plants that are native or well adapted to our area. For nectar, plant Coneflowers, Turk’s Cap and Lantana. Native plants to our area that provide both a host and nectar source are Flame Acanthus and Mexican Plum. Plants and...

From The Jardin Encantado. Wednesday, August 6, 2014. WORMS, BAIT AND POOP. So, I like Catalpa trees. . .probably the only person that does. When we were kids, we used the pods for sword fights; as an adult I love the orchid-like flower. I walk under a big Catalpa every morning on my way to the garden or compost pile. Coming in to the house one morning last week, I felt something on my back and after dancing around for 5 minutes discovered about 20 caterpillars on my back and in my hair. Yipes! Another p...

http://thejardinencantado.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
From The Jardin Encantado. Sunday, January 18, 2015. My friend, Jean B., asked last fall if I was no longer writing my blog and I said, “Oh, yes, I am still writing away.” Not! Truth is I have been so very, very. Lazy I was beginning to think last year no one was reading my blog, commenting or didn't find it interesting so I just quit! But, just like a bad penny, I am back. Ever see one of these? This is a great example of a broom or witch’s broom. But more importantly, I think brooming teaches us to rea...

From The Jardin Encantado: Just Do One Thing!
http://thejardinencantado.blogspot.com/2016/02/just-do-one-thing.html
From The Jardin Encantado. Monday, February 22, 2016. Just Do One Thing! Let’s start easy. . . . with just one thing. Imagine if doing just one thing for wildlife really. Could really make a difference in their existence. I know this sounds weird, but it’s true. We could make a huge difference for our local wildlife if each of us chose to do just one thing in our garden. Really. If we each did just that much, struggling wildlife populations would have a better chance. Are insects good for the garden?

The Bead Storm Files: Gettin' back in the Grooooove
http://thebeadstormfiles.blogspot.com/2010/08/gettin-back-in-grooooove.html
Sunday, August 15, 2010. Gettin' back in the Grooooove. So the lull in my creative streak/etsy involvement may be dissipating. I spent the morning photographing and have listed two new (vintage) items so far today. Not too shabby considering my recent lackadaisical attitude about managing my shop. Let's hope this trend continues. Rather, let's hope this becomes a trend. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Blogs I ♥. LaTouchables Bags and Things. Some of My Favorites.
