Sunday, September 18, 2011. Hatch Chiles. King Ranch! It's Hatch chile season here. I veganized this recipe. And it was super awesome. Make this right away. I used medium Hatch chiles. It was spicy and my mouth is still burning, so maybe next time, I'll go mild. King Ranch 'Chicken' Casserole. 1 1/2 packages frozen gardien, slightly thawed and chopped. 6 roasted Hatch chilies, peeled, seeded, stemmed and chopped. 189; large onion, chopped. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon olive oil.

Monday, February 23, 2009. A Happy Vegan Lasagne. Tempeh Lasange with Cashew Cream Sauce. I then combined the aspects of each that I liked and came up with my own version. And holy moly! 160; This time the lasange rocked! 160; I am actually looking forward to the leftovers tonight (isn't that the best part of lasagne - meals for days). Not my best photography). Lasagna noodles ( 15 noodles). Vegan parmesan (I like Parmezano Sprinkles. From the Uncheese cookbook). 8 oz five grain tempeh. 2 Tbsp olive oil.

Creamy Potato, Leek, Carnival Squash and Roasted Garlic Soup. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Vegan Cake Batter Ice Cream. I used to love that damn fattening cake batter ice cream at Coldstone before I went vegan. I'd get it mixed in with brownies. Occasionally I still find myself thinking about it. I decided it was time to fix that. I saw this recipe. And decided to veganize it and improve it with the Wheeler Del Toro method (heat the milks and sugar and add arrowroot powder to it to thicken). Here is the new recipe:. Monday, January 11, 2010. Pull-Apart Wheat Dinner Rolls. I've been searching and experimenting for a long long time to get the perfect dinner roll recipe. This is it! It is a home on the table on a special occasion and it is also great with a warm mug of soup or stew. These rolls are super soft and they taste fantastic. The recipe makes a lot, so you can pull them apart, cool, and then freeze remaining rolls for another night (if there are any left over). This recipe is originally from nstemple on Veg Web.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Okra and seitan gumbo. Yes, I know it's been over a year since I posted. A lot has happened this year. Some good, some bad. Not sure if anyone reads this anymore and not sure when I'll update next but here's a dish I made a month ago. I've posted about gumbo. The key to any good gumbo is a dark roux which can take upwards of an hour to develop on a low flame. The darker the roux, the better the gumbo. We cooked the roux for over an hour with constant stirring. Live It Up Vegan!

So I thought I'd make a couple of Chinese dishes. Second, we've got scallion pancakes. I didn't do the best job with making them but they went together quite nicely and totally satisfied my Chinese food craving. Recipes for scallion pancakes are pretty much the same everywhere. Friday, May 28, 2010. Vegan Caesar, Soy Curls and Asparagus. I have been waiting months for the new CSA. Season to start and finally this week was the first week. We signed up with the same CSA last year and despite the bad growing season, we really enjoyed our shares. I decided to make a dinner-sized caesar salad with a delicious raw dressing.
