音樂, 音響, 跟生活點滴. 星期一, 11月 19, 2012. 某老美為了跟高中生解釋什麼是成功的秘密, 七年內訪問了 500 個"成功的人". 結論是八個成功的秘密:. 真的"覺得"你找不到 (i.e., 我對什麼事都沒什麼熱情) - You're not thinking hard enough. 簡單, 別老往正經事想, 想想你做過的"壞事" (e.g., 熬夜打麻將, 看電視劇, 炒股, .). 你一定知道做一件事有 Passion 的時候是怎麼樣. 有熱情你會拼了命要做這件事 (e.g., 政治人物年限到了不想下台.). 天底下沒有簡單的事, 不要忌妒別人有"爽缺". 爽缺表示沒有熱情. 仔細看你認為工作狂的朋友, 你看到他們的 Fun Part from Hard Work 嗎? No hard work, no fun. 生活是平衡的. 不要覺得退休是很快樂的一件事, 退休找不到事可以認真做 (什麼都提不起勁), 那才是生活品質下降的開始. Be good at what you do. 沒有秘訣 - Practice, practice, practice!

音樂, 音響, 跟生活點滴. 星期六, 8月 11, 2012. 發燒友跟測量圖表 (2) - 測量的奧妙. 提到了測量跟Smoothing. 音頻測量是值得認真研究的主題. 跟半導體製程比起來:. 加上音樂是屬於茶餘飯後的話題. 誰有腦子去"太認真". 所以久了, 你會發現很多似是而非的論點. 稍微用一點邏輯思考, 就可以點破很多衝突. 舉例假如有人說一定要進無響室測量 (阿要測什麼沒說), 接著他測量的圖表用1/6 Smoothing. 這是很明顯的衝突 (表是說的人不知道自己在說什麼). 進無響室是因為在一般環境下可能得不到所需要的解析度, 如果需要解析度, 用Smoothing是降低解析度. 假如Smoothing的結果可以滿足需求, 不需要無響室. 你可能聽過Pink Noise, White Noise 或 Sine Wave. 這是比較常聽到的. 測量的訊號種類, 長度, 產生方式等都會影響測量結果. 如何擷取訊號, 樣本大小 (FFT Windows, .) 等等. 測試頻響跟失真一般用的是不同的訊號, 不同的擷取方式. 高頻跟低頻也不太一樣. 訂閱： 張貼留言 (Atom).

What's the big deal? 工作幾年下來, 開會是個藝術. 如果閣下是"薪水階級", 觀察您的開會藝術可以精確診斷您升官發財的運. 基本上, 開會有幾類功能: (A) 認識人, 打交道, (B) 宣布事情, (C) 討論方案. 所有的老闆都只喜歡出席 (A). 幾乎是同理可證, 只需要作(A)的人通常是"老闆". (C)是給苦幹實幹, 吃力不討好的朋友經驗的. 基本上一個完美的組織, 大家各作各的, 怎麼會需要"討論解決方案"? 等等 (C) 是應該盡量避免的. 有問題要解決就是吃力不討好. 音樂, 音響, 跟生活點滴. 星期四, 5月 24, 2012. 擴大機是傳統產業. 幾十年下來擴大線路變化不大 (如果這句話得罪某些朋友, 真不好意思). 很多"穩定"的擴大機廠商, 穩定者, 線路不太需要變化. 大家可能有撇步作自己的一些元件, 這跟輪胎一樣, 米其林的輪胎幾十年下來都差不多, 但輪胎配方老闆可不敢公開. 既然這不像電腦及年就淘汰一次, 很多廠商現在都做得不錯. 說兩台機器都不錯很容易, 硬是要說服自己喜歡哪一台, 就比較有挑戰性. 水準以上的擴大機, 要比較得用音樂. 你用的音樂跟我用的可能不同. 你聆聽的頻段, 跟專心的頻段, 跟我可能不同. 你注意的細節跟我注意的細節也可能不同. 擴大機的規格 - 放大倍數 - 也可能不同. 最後一點是最容易出狀況的地方. 如果兩台擴大機的Gain不同, 一個是28一個是34, 音壓沒調34幾乎一定贏, 除非34其他規格太差. 我不常換擴大機. 我朋友搬了一台來我家. 聽了聽覺得很不錯, 接著想跟其他擴大機比比看怎麼樣? 上面的圖無法告訴你哪一台擴大機Harmonic Distortion比較低. 但這些數據通常廠商會給規格. 西窗主人,台灣高...

音樂, 音響, 跟生活點滴. 星期日, 2月 17, 2013. 上法院一般來說不是一件光榮的事. 但上了法院勝訴出場就蠻有意思的. 幾個月以前交通警察"冤枉"我超速. 開了一張罰單. 既然我覺得無罪, 我選擇出庭為自己辯護. 我不是律師, 但簡單的辯護跟公司開會或企管顧問診斷企業策略很類似. 假如你可以說服公司高層花幾百萬美金做個案子, 辯護一張幾百美金的罰單應該不難. 從哲學上的角度, 假如我是無罪, 辯護應該很簡單. 上台演講是 Part of my job, the court is just a different environment. 原則上罰單這種東西上庭未必划算. 上庭有時間成本, 如果敗訴還得付法庭費. 一來我對去法庭看看有興趣, 二來這是個原則問題, 既然無罪怎麼可以蒙冤? 法官看起來五十到六十歲, 滿頭白髮, 老神在在. 談吐就像整個房間是他的 (Owns the room). 輪到我之前, 聽了大概二十個Cases. 原則上 95%的人都認罪, 法官就會問, "Do you have anything to say? 他說你把我關起來好了, 我無法負擔律師費用.).
