Its been a few years since The Battle of the Hook,(1). McIntyre’s Farm was the location of a skirmish called ‘Battle of the Bees’. Where a foraging party under Cornwallis was surprised and beaten back by local militia. Not exactly a glamours battle, but any excuse to do a little camping and discharge my musket will do! Past in the Present. April 11, 2018 · 9:38 pm. GDP: A couple of Carolina dinosaurs. Well, it was supposed to be a working trip no prehistoric shenanigans allowed. But it turns out the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Is practically right across the street from the state archives. I took it as a sign. A most welcome sign, too, because the NCMNS has two dinosaur specimens I’d wanted to see in person for a long time. The first is “Willo,” a remarkable. Either way, Willo is a really neat fossil.
