What the Lord is doing in my life and what I am learning as I spend time with Him. Tuesday, September 4, 2007. This last Sunday we attended church with Denny and Cindy Noble down in Whitney, Texas. Some of you know Denny and Cindy- they're former members of NLBF and also members of Wycliffe Associates. Denny works at the SIL Center with Bob Flach. What the Lord is doing in my life and what I am learning as I spend time with Him. Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Spending time with the staff at Pantego Bible Church for the last two weeks has been a rewarding experience. I now have quite a few new friendships with colleagues in ministry whom I share a common understanding of how to do church. And this coming Saturday (Sep 8) I get to attend a Leader Symposium that I helped plan. It has been wonderful to observe it all and see how they relate to one another.

What the Lord is doing in my life and what I am learning as I spend time with Him. Monday, July 30, 2007. It's Monday morning and Wednesday's coming- the first day of my sabbatical! That means I'm a "short timer;" just two more days of my regular work assignments. Six months ago when I first contemplated taking a sabbatical from pastoring my part of New Life Bible Fellowship, the task of preparing for that leave seemed almost insurmountable. Who would write Parchments? Ephesians 4:11-13 (The Message).

I was driving to work today, singing praise songs as I was making my way in to the office. I was singing Because He Lives, relaxing in the truth of that song. I got to the second verse, which not as many people know. How sweet to hold a newborn baby. And feel the love and joy he brings. But greater still that calm assurance.
