Construcción amateur de un velero pathfinder. Lo que se ve en la imagen debajo tiene todo dos manos de epoxi. Aún faltan los coamings (respaldos? Pero decidí ya dar vuelta el barco. La orza es construida en acero hueco y un poco de plomo en la parte inferior. Se suelda a la pieza superior que tiene los bujes de HDPE (plástico). Las dos partes de la orza solo están punteadas. Si no entra bien en la caja de orza se retira, cortan los puntos de soldadura y se vuelve a puntear. Este trabajo se realizó...

Construcción amateur de un velero pathfinder. El clima mejoró, salimos de la buhardilla y comenzamos la construcción en el garage! Armamos la cuna en caño estructural sacado de la chatarra. Siguiente paso: unir 2 terciados de 12 mm para el fondo plano del casco. Se me ocurrió ir deslizando un router de mano de izquierda a derecha bajando la guía 15-20 mm cada vez. Acá se ven las planchelas con la inclinación necesaria sobre las que apoyó la guía. Resultado final: bastante bien, eh? Quieres usar tu foto?

Construcción amateur de un velero pathfinder. Comenzamos a armar todas las partes que fabricamos durante el invierno. De fondo: Camilo, mi ayudante los sábados y famoso arquitecto colombiano. En esta etapa cometimos un error. Debimos pegar un refuerzo al piso de madera de 70 x 20 mm antes de colocar los frames transversales. Proceso: luego de enfibrar, lija, una mano de imprimación epoxi (marca steelcote, la que había), lija, poliuretano a soplete (revesta). Compré un trailer nuevo por $ar 4600.- Lindo, no? Siguiente etapa, coamings (respaldos en criollo). Todo en trerciado de 9 mm. Detalle de la bifurcación sobre la cubiertita de proa. Terminados los respaldos meta lija y lija. Quieres usar tu foto? Es engañoso lo rápido que aparece esta imágen. Los refuerzos longitudinales(stringers=serretas? Detalle de la roda: los stringers no fueron encastrados como pide el plano, demasiado trabajo. A cada stringer se lo debe cepillar para que el forro del casco se atornille a éstos más tarde. Listo para comenzar a forrar el casco. American Dog ...

Horacio Saboldelli es el técnico naval que va a matricular el barco. Subimos todos para hacer las pruebas de estabilidad. Horacio midiendo los francobordos. Tenemos el fondo pintado.
