Molly Stranahan Reflections: North to Montana
http://mollystranahan.blogspot.com/2014/06/north-to-montana.html
Friday, June 20, 2014. We've attained our goal of being in cooler weather! It was 44 degrees Tuesday morning and there has been plenty of rain with the precipitation being in the form of snow just above us on the mountains. Or a mossy moose? There are also gardens, and I was so happy to see (and smell! Vase of lilacs in our room,. And lilac bushes in the yard, so I enjoyed lilacs to my heart's content. Mountain meadow, just before the Divide. We drove into Montana and through West. Yellowstone. We cr...

Inaugural Newsletter – Holidays Amplify Our Stories. December 24, 2013. April 1, 2015. The difference between idealized holiday images and our reality may be one reason this time of year is known for high levels of depression. I love this quote from addiction circles:. 8220;Expectations are planned disappointments and premeditated resentments.”. Enough about Problems, Let’s Get to Solutions! Let go of your expectations. Accept that being human means being imperfect. Rather than with judgments. In your li...

Live Like You Are Dying. August 15, 2014. April 1, 2015. Inspiration from Those Who Are Dying. Stacy’s advice paired with a photo from Miraval, one of the places she loved, used as a photo-quote at www.facebook.com/pathtohappiness. Stacy and her beloved husband Ethan. Recently I’ve been seeing links on Facebook to an article by Australian palliative care provider and author, Bronnie Ware, who summarized what she has learned. I wish I had let myself be happier. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Molly Stranahan Reflections: Idaho - Craters of the Moon & Twin Falls
http://mollystranahan.blogspot.com/2014/07/idaho-craters-of-moon-twin-falls.html
Thursday, July 3, 2014. Idaho - Craters of the Moon and Twin Falls. Lava fields from the road. On Saturday, June 21st we met my friend, Susie, and her husband and two children at the Sun Valley Club and had a delicious lunch on the patio. It started to sprinkle just as we finished our meal and we moved into the building where our waiter delivered freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Yum! The trail look like a ghost path up this cinder cone. The landscapes can be eerily beautiful. Rather like Capitol Ree...

Molly Stranahan Reflections: Starting South
http://mollystranahan.blogspot.com/2014/06/starting-south.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Those are Buddha statues lined up on the left -. 8 rows radiate from the statue with beautiful. Flowers lining both sides of each row. I've fallen behind on posting again - this trip is so full! Between driving 4-7 hours and unpacking and repacking most days, seeing the sights, visiting with family and friends, and trying to blog and peek at email, I'm not getting enough sleep. Oh well - it is certainly worth it. We visited the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas. On Friday we drove so...

Molly Stranahan Reflections: On the Road in Utah, and Park City
http://mollystranahan.blogspot.com/2014/06/on-road-in-utah-and-park-city.html
Sunday, June 15, 2014. On the Road in Utah, and Park City. We saw a lot of sagebrush and sprinklers arcing water long distances onto hay fields. Many fields had cut hay waiting to be baled - I assume the first cut of the season. We started seeing bigger herds of cattle - almost all black Angus. We drove by a round-up and a feedlot. It makes one aware of all that goes into the beef we eat - those are resource-expensive calories! Some years ago, then I watched the HBO series Big Love. Patriarchal and polit...
