Said and done: Handmade by Chris. About me / über mich. Burdastyle 2013 # : The Dress That Almost Was Not to Be. July 3, 2014. Is it a dress? Or just the thought of a dress, vanished into thin air? Well, a little while ago, this could have gone both ways. This was, without and doubt, the MOST frustrating, difficult make I’ve ever made and not given up on – see, there’s the silver lining. Not that the dress has a silver lining, it is actually lined in blue! Burda do tell you to baste everything together a...

Quite possibly for many reasons, but especially because of Jumping into June. So many of you have sewed and blogged about their jumpsuits – it’s been great fun to see make after make being added to the linkup party. As of tonight it looks like this:. Utterly amazing, don’t you think? Have a look at the clickable linkup party page here. Which one is your favourite?

Sew Biased: October 2013
http://wenznz.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 23 October 2013. Hot Patterns Martini Jacket. I have had the HP Martini Jacket. Pattern for a while, but was undecided on fabric. I could see this being a really solid piece in my wardrobe. Well my idea of a neutral colour went out the window when I found 'the' fabric. A gorgeous poly/viscose fabric with a quilted look and a large floral printed on it. I wasn't thinking of the conundrum of pattern matching and other such trifles - I just had to have it! The fabric has a spongy texture, so I en...

Sew Biased: February 2013
http://wenznz.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 23 February 2013. Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, and have a looksee round my wee corner of the blogsphere. It was also awesome to find some new-to-me bloggers in New Zealand! While I have seen some really cool prize draws on blogs recently, I am going with the standard fallback of the random number generator. Sooo. the number that came up was number 7! Sorry, can't figure out how to get the actual number generator to display, so you'll just have to trust me on that! After some...

Australia Day Outfit 2017 – Simplicity 8124. Heidi in the Mountains – Vintage Simplicity 7431. A New Positano Dress. Rockin' the Rococo. LILY SAGE and CO. Let the Sewing Begin. In a manner of sewing. I only used the pattern for the bodice and decided to make my own designed skirt with pleats to replicate “The New Look” in some way. Now I think the fabric is a cotton silk blend, but I am not sure. That it is a jacquard is quite obvious. And a gorgeous one too! When it came to the skirt, I was debating on ...

Amanda's Adventures in Sewing: November 2014
http://amandasadventuresinsewing.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Amanda's Adventures in Sewing. Saturday, November 22, 2014. I thought you all might like to see a picture of my new little boy! This is Joshua Wesley, born October 16th at 8lbs. 7oz. and 21in. long. You might think that's big but I've had two bigger babies (and one smaller) before him! I am up about two times a night feeding him and am pretty exhausted at this point. However, all of my kids have slept through the night at 2 months so fingers crossed he follows the same pattern. We were warned that Joshua...

Amanda's Adventures in Sewing: Vogue 1317 - Gray wool knit dress w/ black topstitching
http://amandasadventuresinsewing.blogspot.com/2015/02/vogue-1370-gray-wool-knit-dress-w-black.html
Amanda's Adventures in Sewing. Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Vogue 1317 - Gray wool knit dress w/ black topstitching. When this Chado Ralph Rucci designer pattern first came out in 2012, I snapped it up faster then lightning. Interesting seam lines and. It practically had my name written on it. Of course it had to marinate in my stash for a few years while I mulled over the changes I wanted to make. If I start typing LTA, will y'all know what I'm talking about? I made 3 years ago, so was on fabric fumes ...

Amanda's Adventures in Sewing: May 2014
http://amandasadventuresinsewing.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Amanda's Adventures in Sewing. Sunday, May 4, 2014. Oliver S Class Picnic Blouse and Shorts in yellow and blue. For the blouse I cut the 6-12 month for width and 2T for length. The sleeves were cut at the shortest size to be cool for summer. The shorts I knew needed to be cut at the 6-12 month for width but was uncertain what to cut for length. I ended up measuring the crotch length on Rachel, comparing that with the pattern, then cutting the 18-24 month for length. I just love the design of this pattern!

Amanda's Adventures in Sewing: Vogue 8536 - Red, black & white mock-wrap top
http://amandasadventuresinsewing.blogspot.com/2008/11/vogue-8536-red-black-white-mock-wrap.html
Amanda's Adventures in Sewing. Saturday, November 1, 2008. Vogue 8536 - Red, black and white mock-wrap top. I'm in desperate need of long sleeve tops for winter, so you can expect to see quite a few in the next few months. Here is my latest:. I love the fabric, but it made for one busy. Top I'm also really glad one of those big red dots did not end up in a bad location, as I didn't even think about that while I was cutting this out. It's a bit hard to see the criss. Here's some pictures of the insides:.
