Rolling Plains Journal: November 2014
http://rollingplainsjournal.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
The voice of one, crying in the wilderness. Saturday, November 1, 2014. It's National Novel Writing Month! Frost nailed the punkin this morning for the first time this 2014 fall season. This is the kind of weather that makes you want to fill a thermos with hot cocoa and make camp around a roaring fire, even if it's just in your own backyard. Of course, such fire worship goes much better if you've a little something with which to lace and brace that thermos besides chocolate. Try it, and get back to me.

Mobile Kodgers: MOMENTS WITH A MISSIONARY---DEALING WITH SAVAGES
http://mobilecodgers.blogspot.com/2015/07/moments-with-missionary-dealing-with.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. MOMENTS WITH A MISSIONARY- -DEALING WITH SAVAGES. HOW LUCKY I AM TO MEET A REAL LIVE MISSIONARY - WHO'S WILLING TO ENGAGE WITH ME- -answered all my questions. No I didn't challenge his religion as I often do with believers - I wanted to get a sense of his work and life in the Jungle. Both father and daughter had read both books cr...

The voice of one, crying in the wilderness. Saturday, July 4, 2015. A Simmer Down Saturday, Fourth of July Eve Rag. Sound of a G chord strumming. We're on the bed, there, like we NORMALly are. She's Hulu hoppin', I'm on the Umpteenth Plain of KLONDIKE. Wishin' I had a car. Not sure why. A car would be totally useless up. On Klondike Falls except to rhyme with "are"! Waitin' for it to come around again like Arlo taught us to. Wishin' I had a car. A Ford, a Lincoln, ev'na Merc'ry would do. Tag me back,.

What I am Grateful for this Thanksgiving. November 25, 2014. Matt and I in Kauai. Matt and I agreed we would hike to that waterfall on our 3. The morning of July 19. Matt at the base of the waterfall in Kauai. We talked about our wedding, my book, their beautiful island, and then Gordon told me in the 1970’s he had written a children’s book and asked if I wanted to start a family. I told him that I was actually hoping to start one soon and he looked at me very quietly and asked, if you were to get pr...

Rolling Plains Journal: Friday of the Fourth

The voice of one, crying in the wilderness. Friday, July 3, 2015. Friday of the Fourth. Friday of The Fourth I'm hearin' Sgt. Joe "Justh the facths, ma'am" Friday with a lisp. It’s dark out, yet, at ten to six of a morning. Both windows, north and south, reflect on the black beyond with ghostly, shadow-like images. There’s my shadow self, looking for all the world like Gollum in an electric yellow tee, pecking away at his precious. The Christian Right is gulping down the Kool aid! I think that kind of le...

Rolling Plains Journal: December 2012
http://rollingplainsjournal.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
The voice of one, crying in the wilderness. Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Silent White, 2012 Closeout. Christmas Day 2012 on the Rolling Plains. The Good Lord blessed us here in North Texas with a quieting blanket of snow for which, I pray, I am truly thankful. Beginning as freezing rain and sleet Christmas morning, just as first light began to penetrate the pale, bluish gray overcast, it quickly turned to fat, moisture-laden flakes of snow drifting silently as confectioner's sugar. Thank you, Lord!
