sBike: The last Sunday of October
http://bike.stephen-johnson.net/2007/10/last-sunday-of-october.html
Bicycling in the Metro Chattanooga, TN area with an emphasis on Collegedale, TN. Sunday, October 28, 2007. The last Sunday of October. Eleven, yep you read that right, of us headed out from the VM just after 08:00. It didn't take some in the group long to realize that they'd over dressed and we stopped for a shedding session. Actually predicting what to wear is somewhat a hit-and-miss, you know, like a weatherman. A strong tailwind coupled with some (not all) strong legs had us rolling along at 25-30 mph.

http://johnsonjj.blogspot.com/2015/06/out-west-day-9.html
Updates for family and friends. Saturday, June 20, 2015. West or Bust Day 9. Left Nevada in a cloud of dust and drove through ominous desert towards Los Angeles. Las Vegas's eye in the sky. New York" in Vegas (I see some wild west in the foreground). Ah - at last - the REAL goal of the trip! A solar power station. In LA we were there the day of the red carpet premier of Jurassic World. Some old hand prints. A couple of my favorites:. Ahh, Patrick. Make it so! A sweet, edible Ellen - made from jelly beans.

sBike: Cool weather . . . it's here!
http://bike.stephen-johnson.net/2007/10/ride-description-six-of-us-met-at-vm.html
Bicycling in the Metro Chattanooga, TN area with an emphasis on Collegedale, TN. Saturday, October 13, 2007. Cool weather . . . it's here! Six of us met at the VM and rolled out just after 08:00. Most were wearing arm warmers, leg warmers, full finger gloves, and the odd vest here and there. One person, who shall remain nameless, showed up in shorts, short sleeve jersey, and fingerless gloves. Manly or just insane, was the subject of discussion. Thanks for a great, safe ride! Bicycling in the Metro Chattanooga, TN area with an emphasis on Collegedale, TN. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. All good things must end. Five riders left the VM parking lot promptly at 17:30. This was our last after work group ride of the season due to the time change this coming weekend. The weather was beautiful, but a chill was in the air when riding through the shadows. London Lane heads east and parallels the Georgia state line skirting Baker Ridge and climbing through Jones Ridge. Lead Mine Valley a...

Updates for family and friends. Saturday, June 20, 2015. West or Bust Day 11. June 11, Thursday. Leaving Monterey, we stopped at Elkhorn Slough pronounced "Slew" (I, speaking only the Queen's English, would have said "Slahff" ahem) and on up the coast towards San Francisco. Sea otters were all over the place playing around. Where we come from we have a Ross' landing. A little harbor seal came near too. She loudly scolded us for being too close. This tree was a baby around the time Jesus was born. Paul Bu...

Updates for family and friends. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Another Out West Trip - Day ONE and TWO. Honestly I can't tell you where the last 6 months got to - can't believe I haven't had ANYthing to say for 6 months? Something is wrong here. Anyhoo, we've done it again and have taken another trip out west. So we'll start with day one again. Our first picnic lunch. We had unexpected company. They politely declined our food in favor of their own. Such brilliant green almost blinded us. What a cute house!

After that it was lunch, Mariposa Grove, swimming in the creek then a drive to Glacier point around sunset. Lovely relaxing day. The lovely North Merced River which is a 5 minute walk from the camp. Johnson's Journal Jotter: West or Bust Day 14

Updates for family and friends. Saturday, June 20, 2015. West or Bust Day 14. Sunday, June 14. We left mid-morning for Tuolomne Meadows. Lovely flowers line the cliffs along the road. The lady to the left of the sign is just hiking in from the valley. She said it was hot. Looking back from the other side to half dome. We had the best campsite in the campground - #A88 - right by the creek at the end of the road/loop. The only night we had to put our foodstuffs away in a bear box. Taken from our site.
