The Less Frequented Road Warrior. January 27, 2010 at 2:31 am. I am by no means a true road warrior but I travel occasionally through out the year. I typically pay more attention to the little things I enjoy and don’t enjoy, mainly because I can’t get home fast enough. Below is a list of my business travel likes and dislikes, my quirks and my habits as the less frequented road warrior. Tip #4 Do not throw out the magazines you bought at the airportif you stay less than a week the magazines do not turn ov...

How can I think outside the box when I work inside a cube? | LucyHackman's Blog

How can I think outside the box when I work inside a cube? August 19, 2010 at 6:38 pm. I ran across this list in Time Magazine about the top 10 things kids of this generation will never experience. Below This list made me chuckle, made me feel nostalgic and made be feel down right old. Which I am happy and proud to be! The class of 2014 doesn’t wear watches, doesn’t write in cursive and has no idea why Nirvana is awesome. The Glory Days of Nick at Nite. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Terminator. A location-b...

Love Love Me Do…I’ll Always Love You | LucyHackman's Blog

Love Love Me Do…I’ll Always Love You. February 13, 2010 at 3:03 pm. With Valentines Day here I was noticing myself saying “Happy Valentine’s Day” to people as a sign off to a conversation or as a salutation. I thought it odd that I would say that to colleagues, vendors, friends etc. Why do we always take a holiday occasion and exploit it? Happy Valentines Day you can really only use this a week before the big day and not a day after. It can be a sting of a holiday to some people who only look at it f...

The Dog Ate My Homework. January 9, 2010 at 3:33 am. How can professionals in the 21. Century possibly perform with the pressures of punctuality to meetings, due dates, balancing budgets, 5-day work weeks (that often turn into 6 when working at night). Not to mention doing all of this and trying to get 8 hours of sleep (and a life). Of course all of this whetted my appetite for a few lists lists of excuses heard in the office, not mine of course…. I’m ok now, but I actually threw up on the way over.

March 29, 2010 at 4:07 pm. Being a pop culture fanatic I will always hark back to the 80’s for some real cheesy nostalgia. With the passing of John Hughes. Last year my nostalgia was even more heightened after I caught the movie Hot Tub Time Machine. This week. While there were your typical Judd Apatow. My top 5 80’s movie references in the movie:. 1 Back to the Future. 8212; The obvious time travel and others. 2 Better Off Dead. I want my two dollars. Poster in the bedroom. 5 The Sure Thing. She ever so...

Cry Me a River. Now that I have two toddler boys we embrace the Pixar. Films like no other. The animation is spectacular, the characters are dynamic, funny, witty and real. My kids like the characters and I like the story lines, which is a pure stroke of genius considering I like to watch TV with my kids. We own most of them, except Bug’s Life and The Incredibles, and we watch them consistently. Our new purchase last week was Up. Were rightthe movie is a must see — a very beautiful story and film. 8212; ...

Do You Have the Fever? February 16, 2011 at 7:29 pm. I have two young children who have not caught the fever yet so admittedly I do not have it. But my friends who have daughters whether they are 5 years old or 18 years oldhave all caught it. The Bieber Fever to be exact. YouTube launched in 2005 (that’s it? Who then took the Bieb’s to Usher for the real golden opportunity) wanted to “build him up more on YouTube first” and had Bieber record more videos from home for YouTube. Genius I say...Began selling...

Say Cheese… | LucyHackman's Blog

March 8, 2011 at 7:07 pm. I re-read a popular business book this weekend “Who Moved My Cheese”. While it’s touted as a business book it draws many parallels on your personal life as well — whether it be about relationships, family dynamics, etc. As I ponder the meaning of the book I quickly draw parallels about this notion of “change” and how it has effected everything we do and defined us as a society, from entertainment to coffee to communications and so on. For a company like Pitney Bowes. I never lik...
