Hurt, again. | Nights' Nightly
https://nightsnightly.wordpress.com/2010/07/01/hurt-again
Long days and pleasant nights. It seems that I am cursed. My affliction? This entry was posted on July 1, 2010 by Luke M. It was filed under Life. And was tagged with crush. On the job injury. You have the worst luck. Sorry to hear about the pain and the light duty (and just as you were getting into a flow) but I’m glad to hear nothing serious was damaged. Take care of yourself. Winding down (and the death of a volunteer) | Richard's Reckless Travels
https://goggins.wordpress.com/2010/07/02/winding-down-and-the-death-of-a-volunteer
Richard’s Reckless Travels. A journal of my global shenanigans. Winding down (and the death of a volunteer). I’m always up for saving. I had yet another day of work to do with the trainees on Saturday and then headed to Leon where I met up with Luis for one final round of shenanigans. We’d planned on going to a movie, butit just didn’t happen. We were just too beat I even convinced Luis to go cheap on dinner. It was my first (and not the last) rotisserie chicken I’ve ever gotten in Nicaragua. Which makes...

Another book | Richard's Reckless Travels
https://goggins.wordpress.com/2010/07/06/another-book-2
Richard’s Reckless Travels. A journal of my global shenanigans. Go figure – of course I read another book (I should knock out another one before I leave). The Secret History of the American Empire – A. A book about the corruption and pressure that results in corporations essentially “running” the world. It scares the crap out of me. My first job: Kokoro | Nights' Nightly
https://nightsnightly.wordpress.com/2010/06/28/my-first-job-kokoro
Long days and pleasant nights. My first job: Kokoro. For just short of two years I worked at Kokoro. It remains my favorite job. I worked near full time during school breaks and part time during the school year. I honestly loved it there. Where else do you get an employee meal worth $10 of food for every four hours you work? All of the older ladies were like aunts to me. They made sure I always had something to eat, that I had help if I needed it, and were always interested in my studies. You are comment...

Small projects with big outcomes | Richard's Reckless Travels
https://goggins.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/small-projects-with-big-outcomes
Richard’s Reckless Travels. A journal of my global shenanigans. Small projects with big outcomes. Due to the lack of projects going on, this weekend I spent an inordinate amount of time in the cyber. Some of these days I would sit back and think, What am I doing? Here I am in another country why don’t I take advantage of my last months here and get out and visit with the people? Why don’t I go start something new? What will I be doing? What do I want to do? This has been the initial idea the NGO had when...

E. Coli but not E. Coli | Richard's Reckless Travels
https://goggins.wordpress.com/2010/06/05/e-coli-but-not-e-coli
Richard’s Reckless Travels. A journal of my global shenanigans. E Coli but not E. Coli. While Friday nothing exciting went down, things finally started rolling on the 15. I woke up and caught the 5 AM bus to León, only to find that there were 3 busses instead of one. It turns out that 2 of the busses were for the university students. If you’re in a hurry you can take the expreso,. I’m not in that much of a hurry. The next morning, I grabbed breakfast while I waited for Carla (Brie’s old neighbor in Malpa...

WHAT is this?????? | Richard's Reckless Travels
https://goggins.wordpress.com/2010/06/08/what-is-this
Richard’s Reckless Travels. A journal of my global shenanigans. This bug flew into my house the other night and just would not leave. It was so big I thought it was a bat, I trapped it under a container before throwing it out in the yard, but it definitely made me even more jumpy. Those tiles are 4 x 4 inches square.
