Sew Not Perfect: Why I Haven't Posted Lately....
http://sewnotperfect.blogspot.com/2008/09/why-i-havent-posted-lately.html
I'm teaching myself to sew.come along for the ride - learn with me, watch my disasters, and feel better about yourself. Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Why I Haven't Posted Lately. Because I had another baby at 3:44 AM on the morning of August 27th! Life with an infant and a toddler can be a bit hectic - barely can manage to shower - let alone sew. If you're interested, you can check my soon-to-be-created mommy blog. I will post the link when I get past technical issues at wordpress. Fasten, Fix, Secure.

Sew Not Perfect: June 2008

I'm teaching myself to sew.come along for the ride - learn with me, watch my disasters, and feel better about yourself. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. The End of the Dress Saga. How annoying is that? I wanted to cry and I think Kailee did too. Now I have to figure out a way to get scorched polyester off an iron. Fun. A picture follows of the totally useless piece of elastic encased in bias tape on the inside back of the dress. Why does the pattern call for this? Opinions wanted, please. 1 Finish your seams whil...

Sew Not Perfect: My first garmet!
http://sewnotperfect.blogspot.com/2008/05/my-first-garmet.html
I'm teaching myself to sew.come along for the ride - learn with me, watch my disasters, and feel better about yourself. Saturday, May 31, 2008. Lesson learned on this project. 1 It's not a good idea to make your first garmet with a slippery, ravelly fabric like this cute (but difficult) polyester seersucker. 2 The importance of cutting accurately. 3 What interfacings are and why they are necessary. 5 The sound my sewing machine makes when the tension is not adjusted correctly. But hopefully I will learn ...

Southern Hills Neighbourhood Group: October 2010
http://southernhillsng.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Southern Hills Neighbourhood Group. Sunday, October 31, 2010. A Bargain on Ebay. My Diana dressmaker's model was looking decidedly tired after 25 years of use. The dials no longer turned and the felt fabric was peeling away. Was paying $450 for a new Diana worth the use it would get? I turned to Ebay . And there I found a Venus Ardus for $50. In almost brand new condition, it still had the instruction manual as well as the plastic cover that the original model came in. Posted by Karen Anderson. I wasn't ...

Button and Needle: September 2014
http://buttonandneedle.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, 7 September 2014. So, this summer I switched up my exercise routine a bit. And by switch up, I mean restart - this past winter was one of the least active seasons of my adult life! What better way to boost my chances of hitting the gym (or in this case, barre - very fun) than a new outfit? This is the Pneuma Tank. From Papercut's TRI collection. And, exciting for those of us who live far from New Zealand, it is available as a downloadable pattern. Instant gratification time! Oh, and as an additio...
