My knee op took place back at the end of April and here I am over five months later struggling to shuffle around and partially back using a crutch. No wonder I’ve put on 8kg since then, I’ve always liked my food and drink too much to diet for very long. I had an X-ray at The Hallamshire last week, my GP called on Monday to say they had alerted him to the depletion of my femur and he seemed quite concerned to get to see the specialist quickly, which is ironic as I’ve been trying to do just that for 3 weeks, hindered at every step with the bureaucracy of the systems, both BUPA and NHS. Onwards And Upwards …. Time flies …. Well I’ve been back on the bike since Easter, so far so good … the bone problems in my knee and hip seem to be holding up ok … until wrecking my back today! I’ve kept it going for 8 days up to yesterday but day 9 is looking difficult with the back pain today. Maybe I can manage a roll around the block before dark to keep it going but I’ll post the Strava links to the rides I’ve done so far anyway, more photos/maps in each. Day 1: A Bridge (Not) Too Far.
