RIDING THE WIND: Frequently Asked Questions
http://antonkrupicka.blogspot.com/2011/01/frequently-asked-questions.html
Wednesday, January 5, 2011. What kind/model of shoes do you wear? Do you ever wear socks while running? Which is a Merino Wool compression sock that is 4" high. I love wool, the compression means it never falls down (something I always hated about socks), and the height is great for scree or snow. How many miles of barefoot do you run per week? What is your typical diet/how do you eat enough to run that much? Sweet carbs: a monster pan of pumpkin walnut chocolate chip muffins I baked. EDIT (6/23/2011): T...

RIDING THE WIND: March 3 - 9
http://antonkrupicka.blogspot.com/2014/03/march-3-9.html
Wednesday, March 12, 2014. March 3 - 9. Mon - Green Mountain (1:33, 3000') climbing in the gym. Nice and warm day out on the mountain this morning, feels like spring. Today I was randomly listening to Broken Social Scene's first real album You Forgot It In People. Tue - Green Mountain (1:38, 3000'). I have an acupuncture appointment. Homie's attempt on the Colorado 14ers speed record from a couple years ago is legendary, and Bill has continually concocted logical and interesting climbing projects that on...

Anton Krupicka – Partners
http://antonkrupicka.com/partners
I have been an Ambassador for Buff Headwear since 2012 but even before that found this simple, tubular piece of cloth to be extremely versatile and indispensable in the mountains. Their extensive support of mountain and ultra running make them a natural partner, and whenever I am in Spain I feel like I have a second family in Barcelona (where Buff headquarters are located). Stance entered the performance sock category in 2015, and with this have provided an exciting opportunity for fusing style and fun w...

Monday, March 31, 2014. March 24 - 30. Mon - Climbing Gym. Today was my ninth day climbing out of the last 10 days, seven of those with Joe. Including today. As such, both of us are starting to feel a little accumulative fatigue and niggles in our shoulders, wrists, forearms. Only three of those nine days have been outdoors, but even on days I've been climbing outside I've often hit an evening session at the gym; with this morning's snow showers, Joe and I took yet another trip to Movement. Later in the ...

RIDING THE WIND: February 2014
http://antonkrupicka.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 23, 2014. Feb 17 - 23. Mon - Green Mountain (1:17, 3000'). Tue - Green Mountain (1:24, 3000'). This time around, though, I had somehow forgotten to specify what sort of midsole heights I wanted on my Winter 110s, so the factory seemingly defaulted to the traditional 12mm drop of a generic running shoe (it's complicated to explain why, but on these particular shoes I had requested an old-school, super-simple, cut-sheet EVA midsole versus the more typical injected EVA midsole). By Miguel C...

RIDING THE WIND: April 2014
http://antonkrupicka.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 7, 2014. Mar 31 - April 6. Mon - 5th Flatiron- 4th Flatiron- 1st Flatiron (2:13, 4000'). In the evening, in lieu of a partner for climbing in the gym, I decided to overcome my prejudices and try out some leisurely bouldering. The Sanitas trailhead is a 5min bike from my apartment, and another 5min of uphill hiking delivered me at the North Shelf Traverse, a technically easy 60' of rock wall that allowed me to get a nice pump before watching the sun set with some Melville . Today was the 20t...

RIDING THE WIND: January 2014
http://antonkrupicka.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 6, 2014. Dec 30 - Jan 5. Mon-AM: 2:04, 3000' Green. Up Bear Canyon and down Gregory-Ranger. Feeling pretty sluggish this morning, so I skipped Bear Peak and just jogged up the canyon instead. Tue-AM: 2:11, 4500' Bear and Green. Did the usual loop, and it was super-warm out, probably upper-50s. Legs weren't as responsive as I would've liked, though, and the weather was hot enough to make me feel dehydrated and worked by the end. Wed-AM: 2:19, 4500' Bear and Green. Sat-AM: :34, 500' Streets.
