Codehappy: September 2014
http://donald-forth.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Random thoughts, idle musings, confused rambles, and occasional mumbling. Sunday, September 28, 2014. While working in the yard this weekend we noticed a strange looking thing in the Shrubs. A quick search on the net revealed the creator of this amazing structure. The Potter Wasp. A solitary wasp that create little pots for their offspring. Seriously kind of amazing. They fill the pot with paralyzed caterpillars, spiders, and other bugs. Then they lay an egg and cap the pot. Links to this post. Like ever...

Apple Watch: day 2 - The Pug Automatic
http://thepugautomatic.com/2015/05/apple-watch-day-2
Apple Watch: day 2. May 22, 2015 at 22:30 CEST. I’ve had my Apple Watch for 2 days now. These are some random observations so far. I hear you can get these cheaper than $349, but having the current time a wrist-raise away is very convenient. The wrist-raise detection (turning the display on only when needed, to save battery) has worked almost flawlessly for me I have no complaints. The Apple Watch is in some ways less beautiful to me than the mechanical Raketa watch. When the circle-of-specifications app...

The 10,000 steps - The Pug Automatic
http://thepugautomatic.com/2015/03/the-ten-thousand-steps
The 10,000 steps. March 6, 2015 at 23:30 CET. For a month now, I’ve counted my steps using the pedometer. Built into my iPhone 6, with a daily goal of 10,000. And I’ve found that counting steps, combined with some positive peer pressure, makes me. To move more throughout the day. With an iPhone 5s or later, you can use the free Fitbit app. Their “MobileTrack”. Feature uses the phone as the source of data no need to buy a wristband. Free, pay to remove ads) mostly because it can show my step count as a No...

Jokeret S2 Sports Headphones Review. The Jokeret S2 sports headphones are a solid pair of bluetooth headphones. They aren’t the best for running but do sound really good. I would definitely recommend checking them out. Jokeret S2 on Amazon. The maker of this product did send me a unit to review for free. The opinions are still my own and I received no other compensation from the maker. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window). August 7th, 2015.

The Apple Watch is not a Fitbit wristband - The Pug Automatic
http://thepugautomatic.com/2015/05/the-apple-watch-is-not-a-fitbit-wristband
The Apple Watch is not a Fitbit wristband. May 21, 2015 at 07:05 CEST. I’ve previously blogged about using the iPhone as a step counter together with the Fitbit app. I had hoped that the Apple Watch could fit into this arrangement, but I’m afraid it doesn’t. It does count steps, but not in a way that you can use with Fitbit challenges. There are two ways for an iPhone app to access step data: through the pedometer (technical reference: CMPedometer from Core Motion. The Health data comes from.
