Breaking Chains and Taking Lanes. Bicycle Adventures in the Great White North. In Defence of Bike Lanes. How bad could they be? This required an exploratory mission to the south side via 97th Street. The first thing I noticed as I turned onto 97th was that there wasn’t anything demarking it as a bike route. Upon closer inspection, things started to become clearer. The game is spot the sharrow! Then, I saw it:. A newly constructed roundabout! And I bet someone’s pretty pissed about it. The residential sec...

Rides, Reviews, Races and Random Thoughts: Rollin' Below Rowland - New Trail Report
http://gord962mtb.blogspot.com/2011/05/rollin-below-rowland-new-trail-report.html
Rides, Reviews, Races and Random Thoughts. Ramblings from a mountain biker in Edmonton, AB. Monday, May 16, 2011. Rollin' Below Rowland - New Trail Report. The most difficult trail feature that comes to my mind as I write this is the short power climbs. Rides, Reviews, Races and Random Thoughts. Ramblings from a mountain biker in Edmonton, AB. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Starting Your Child in Cycling. When Lachlan turned one, I got a helmet for him and I pulled him around in a Chariot. With a run bike, the rider learns balance first, pedal last. Rides, Reviews, Races and Random Thoughts: Ahhh... Sweet Dirt!
http://gord962mtb.blogspot.com/2011/05/ahhh-sweet-dirt.html
Rides, Reviews, Races and Random Thoughts. Ramblings from a mountain biker in Edmonton, AB. Sunday, May 1, 2011. It was a long, snowy, cold winter here in Edmonton, followed by a long, snowy, cold spring. It's hard to believe that it is May before we can ride the trails without plowing through snow or bogging through mud. Sure you can find snow and mud on the sheltered trails or those with poor drainage, but trails that are in direct sun all appeared to be clear. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Are y...

https://breakingchainstakinglanes.wordpress.com/2015/02/28/this-one-got-fat
Breaking Chains and Taking Lanes. Bicycle Adventures in the Great White North. This One Got Fat. In the creepy half century old cycling training slash horror film. Enter the fat bike. So, I got a fat bike. I didn’t buy this bike to commute on, though. I bought it to have fun on, to explore the great trails of this city’s valley and ravines, to get off the well trodden path, to rekindle the joy of cycling. Winter specific trail markers. Having never owned a mountain bike, if I felt the desire to go off th...
