Making a wealthy home, with an empty penny jar. We never did get any chickens, because we were to worried about the other less friendly neighbours. So we got some rabbit and guinea pigs instead! One day, while Sven was tutoring German to Isabella, I went down to feed the rabbits, when I saw that some mice had moved in with our pets! I got quite a shock when I realised they were actually tiny one day old guinea pigs, the progeny of two castrated parents…. Peanut turned out to be a consistently unlucky name.

Other than the evil red colour, it doesn’t look so bad? Until you see what is on the other side of the room…. That is the kitchen tap. With a hole in the wall. Looking directly into the loo. Then comes the toilet itself. Actually, this is by no means as bad as it looks. Everything worked, and the shower is spacious, and does its job beautifully. Hole in the wall.

We took the keys at once! The breakdown runs thus:. Rent: 251 euros per month. Size: 54 square meters. Plus, due to the uninhabitable state of the place, we were given one and a half months to renovate, without having to pay any rent. Here is a picture of where we were living while we did the work.
