Pen-y-Wyrlod lambs are raised on 50 acres of gently sloping upland fields on the eastern edge of the Black Mountains. The farm has been here, relatively unchanged, since the sixteenth century. We joined the Soil Association and converted the farm to organic production ten years ago. It is also in the Tir Gofal environmental scheme and this means that we have to stick to the highest standards of conservation:. We graze extensively, to reduce pressure on the ancient meadow.

Pen-y-Wyrlod organic lamb is exceptionally tasty and very low in fat, which sets it apart from most commercially available lamb. It is available as whole or half lambs at 8.50 per kilo and most lambs weigh between 10 and 15kg. We only sell freshly prepared meat and do not freeze anything, so ordering is essential. We can deliver anywhere along the M4 corridor and to most parts of London, as well as within South East Wales. Pen-y-Wyrlod Farm, Llanvetherine, Abergavenny. Monmouthshire. NP7 8RG.

We generally start selling lambs in November and have them available through until July, as different animals mature at different rates. Our lambs are sold butchered and vacuum packed ready for cooking or for the freezer. Typically, we provide:legs, shoulders (one whole, one diced), double chops, breast (minced if available), kidneys and bag of bones for stews, soups or lucky dogs. We can offer half lambs if required.
