Turning Points: Reddit Vs. Digg
http://tpoints.blogspot.com/2009/11/reddit-vs-digg.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. Reddit Vs. Digg. I was looking over Reddit. Today, a site that I had heard of but never really utilized, primarily because I'm typically at Digg. I love the idea behind both. I like the idea of a news source aggregating stories based on how other users like myself feel about them, as opposed to an editor high in the structure of a newspaper. Its a Journalistic socialism. But, if pushed, I'd much rather head to Digg than Reddit. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off!: The Future is Now (and Other Lame Catchphrases)

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off! Monday, November 30, 2009. The Future is Now (and Other Lame Catchphrases). And sadly the inner nerd in me keeps me coming back to D. I go to Google News if I'm looking for more information, turn to Yahoo! But my status provided people with a glimpse of what was going on, and those who wanted to ask about certain "stories" either did in person, or commented back and forth with me. So honestly, the newspaper currently has no place in my life at the moment. Will I miss it?

Turning Points: What's After Google?
http://tpoints.blogspot.com/2009/12/whats-after-google.html
Sunday, December 13, 2009. Over the course of the semester, we've spent a great deal of time looking at Google, its model and its implications. However, in the end, we only really scratched the surface of what Google is and what it could be. The above quote, from one of Colin's. Earlier this week, made me wonder what exactly is going to challenge Google to really innovate? If not, what happens? This is why I'm not a computer programmer and it's why I would have failed during the .com boom. I don'...Plan ...

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off!: Trying to be Nice
http://mattplusblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/trying-to-be-nice.html
Matt Will Blog Your Face Off! Monday, December 7, 2009. Trying to be Nice. I agree with much of the praise that is showered upon McLuhan- he wrote way before his time, predicted much of what actually came to pass in the advances in media and technology, and (for the most part) has a cohesive and understandable book here. However, I find myself harping on little things here and there. I'm with Courtney. In the case of Teleportation. And how the hell is that not #1? I tend to link the use. Of a form of med...

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off!: The Easy Answer - Sports

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off! Sunday, November 29, 2009. The Easy Answer - Sports. Before tackling the more complex questions posed on our class blog, I decided to go along a loophole and follow how sports coverage in general has been handled lately. I haven't gone to newspapers to look up my scores, stats, or standings for professional sports in years now. Yahoo! S NBA column writer/blogger Adrian Wojnarowski. I will look a bit further, with regards to the "top news stories" and local news stories in my...

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off!: Identity 2.0
http://mattplusblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/identity-20.html
Matt Will Blog Your Face Off! Saturday, November 28, 2009. Given everything we've learned about Wikipedia, I'm not sure why I'm linking to this, but this is where I first learned about the whole Identity 2.0 theory. Make their arguments, but I'm still a little too wary at this point to trust everything behind one ID after seeing so many friends get their FB accounts hacked, their emails compromised, and even a couple relatives getting their identity stolen online. Labels: Identity 2.0.

Matt Will Blog Your Face Off!: Don't call it a comeback?
http://mattplusblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/dont-call-it-comeback.html
Matt Will Blog Your Face Off! Sunday, December 6, 2009. Don't call it a comeback? I'm still reading the book, didn't get it til late this week. But there is a definite need for some "head-wrapping-around" time for this metaphor-laden piece of work. When reading through though, while I am impressed with some of the explanations McLuhan puts forth, I am a bit puzzled as to why he is popping back up. I googled "McLuhan blog".
