Photo of the Week. In 1999, a new dimension was added to our program. In partnership with AMOR Projects. During the time that the medical launch was being renovated, a local businessman noticed the ongoing work and visited to inquire about the project. This visit lead to his decision to donate a Lake Renegade 250 amphibious aircraft to the program in support of our work. This airplane has repeatedly proven valuable when accessing the many villages along the rivers where no runways exist.

The only trouble is that I have to take the public launch/ferry to get there. It’s about a three day trip via the river. Apparently it’s hot and robbers abound. Saturday, August 16, 2008. Hello My Dear Friends and Fellow SM's! I made it safely to Pucallpa, Peru and have enjoyed my first days here so far! God is so good! Kristin and I are learning some Spanish, meeting people, etc before we head out to the medical boat to put are nursing skills to work on the Amazon this Thursday for a 3 mos stent before coming back to our "homebase" in Pucallpa. I haven't seen nothing yet! However, The mission property is beautiful! I can't wait to see what's in store!

Thursday, August 25, 2011. Marañón River visit and Estrecho, Peru. We departed May 3rd on a commercial flight to the beautiful city of Iquitos. Upon landing we headed to Masusa port to board the public launch Gilmer I for the 24 hr. trip up the Maranon River. We finally arrived at BW David Saboya’s home base, Santa Rita de Castilla, at 6pm. My wife enjoying the trip in her hammock. Heading to Leoncio Prado. Chapel in Leoncio Prado. Sacred service in Santa Rita. Brethren in San Roque. Next stop: Santa Rita.
