And any happy combinations that may result, plus various maunderings that occasionally pop to mind. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Great Bay Blvd WMA 5/5- Gull-billed Tern, Seaside Sparrow. I'd had enough of woodland trails which seemed to be all that I had walked the last week, so after the Blue Grosbeak excitement, I drove down to Great Bay Blvd to scout out the what was in and on the marshes. And most were, but standing on a point were two Gull-billed Terns. My explorations yield 5 more county birds. My on...

If there are no Wood Ducks, proceed to first bog on the left after the cut. If there are no Wood Ducks there, continue to 2nd bog. If there are no Wood Ducks...And small...

Bonsaibirder - birds!: March 2009
http://bonsaibirder.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 29 March 2009. Whooper Swans and Snow Buntings. A flock of 82 Whooper Swans turned up at Herrington Country Park last week and it turns out that this was the second biggest flock ever in Durham! Here's a small part of the flock. Then today, Chairman of the Durham Bird Club found two gorgeous Snow Buntings in Hendon. Two brilliant species, neither found by me - but who cares! Thursday, 19 March 2009. Thanks to the people at the Prospect Park Birding Blog. I have only seen a handful of Winter Wrens.

And any happy combinations that may result, plus various maunderings that occasionally pop to mind. Monday, May 11, 2015. Colliers Mills WMA 5/11- Indigo Bunting. I saw one Pine Warbler. I heard a whopping two Black-and-white Warblers. And so one. Granted, I got a late start, but a friend who got an earlier start this morning heard/saw exactly zero warblers at Pine Park. That's almost impossible. Meanwhile, back at the WMA, I did manage to see a few nice birds, starting with a Warbling Vireo. Leaving asi...

Birds & Words: Wells Mill Park 5/4--Eastern Wood-Pewee
http://birdsandwords-larryz.blogspot.com/2015/05/wells-mill-park-54-eastern-wood-pewee.html
And any happy combinations that may result, plus various maunderings that occasionally pop to mind. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Wells Mill Park 5/4- Eastern Wood-Pewee. The new bird I added for the year was Eastern Wood-Pewee, near the Nature Center. A very easy bird to pick out by ear. I walked my usual route there, which is about two miles of hilly terrain and it was more about the exercise than the birding by the time I got on the flat part of the trail, returning to the parking lot. Bird A Day History.
