A New Adventure in Class R: Cadwell Park, May 2012.
http://petrolheadsonly08.blogspot.com/2012/06/cadwell-park-may-2012.html
A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Saturday, 2 June 2012. Cadwell Park, May 2012. Well that was an amazing weekend in many ways, but mostly because Cadwell is such an exciting track. Well I've come away from Cadwell with a big boost to my confidence in that respect. I'm not there yet but I took a huge chunk out of my past lap times here this weekend and I am, as they say, dead chuffed! So the racing was eventful! Subscri...

A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Wednesday, 3 September 2014. Anglesey and Silverstone International. So I've missed the Rockingham weekend due to the family holiday. I know, I know. Such lack of commitment. Bad planning on my part, but I didn't know I'd be leading the championship when I booked it did I! So Anglesey was up next for me and I go into this still leading my class championship. Do you see what I did there?

A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Thursday, 25 September 2014. Cadwell 2014 : Title decider. Well I didn't exactly make it easy for myself. With 2 races over the weekend, all i needed to do was stay ahead of Dave. I even got a 3 day pass from home to go testing on the Friday. That went great. Got my times down into the 1:35s so quite respectable and boosted my confidence. I'm so proud to have achieved this, and of cours...

A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Sunday, 29 July 2012. Donington 23/24th June 2012. Bit late with the update this month. Lots going on including my family holiday and my 'other hobbies' getting in the way (you know what I mean, Austen! Despite the practice, I only managed 1.19.2s in qualy putting me 7th and 6th in class on the grids. Race 2 was pretty uneventful. A poor start, but ended up 5th as Austen broke somet...

A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Friday, 10 August 2012. Never been there before. In fact it's been a while since I went to a circuit for the very first time so it promised to be interesting. Sadly I didn't have time to do the test day on the Friday. We had tickets for the Olympic rowing for Friday morning (which was fantastic) and then I headed off mid afternoon for the long drag up to North Wales. We decided to do no...

Tim's Kit Car Journey. A blog that chronicles my adventures building, owning, fettling and racing various kit cars. Saturday, 17 January 2015. Remember remember that during December. During December I finished the bracket for the hand brake cable. It's formed from a laser-cut profile and a bit of old Escort,. Therefore, something old, something new, something borrowed (Dave and his TIG welder) and something errr. black. I also bought myself a Christmas present:. Tuesday, 13 January 2015. Tim's Kit Car Journey. A blog that chronicles my adventures building, owning, fettling and racing various kit cars. Tuesday, 2 September 2014. No time to write anything significant - and indeed little time for much else. Our bouncing baby boy and 'heir to the overdraft' (how my Dad often used to introduce me) was born in the middle of June and things have suddenly got very busy. So, here's some images of the very small amount of work that I've done. Wood, like a Porsche 959, innit. Dr Bob and his BDN S3.

At long-last the car is away having its tanks, water pipes and odds-and-sods fabricated. In all there are 9-items to be made or completed. The main fuel tank. The swirl pot housing the Yamaha pump. A small hard-pipe in the radiator top-hose. A much more complicated hard-pipe in the bottom-hose. An upper support for the oil cooler. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tim's Kit Car Journey. A blog that chronicles my adventures building, owning, fettling and racing various kit cars. Tuesday, 24 February 2015. Not much to report. I've started to hack the front clamshell about. An itchy business it is too. It's all rather rough at present but I'm sure that it will come together with a bit more sanding. Tim's Kit Car Journey. A blog that chronicles my adventures building, owning, fettling and racing various kit cars. Monday, 23 March 2015. First things first: no aluminium fab until the 18th; I will try to make sure that I need no further fabrication afterwards by making a couple of extra parts in board. A couple of teeny parts arrived from Dave Gallop today. These together make a little roller that guide the throttle cable through up-to 90 degrees. Sunday, 22 March 2015. I have a few things to do before...

Tim's Kit Car Journey. A blog that chronicles my adventures building, owning, fettling and racing various kit cars. Saturday, 6 June 2015. Where would the car builder be without EBay? I can't imagine what a pain it must've been in the "good ol' days" to obtain random parts; no wonder kit car shows used to be so numerous and busy. My latest online-find is a track rod-end for a radio-controlled car. In my case, alongside some rod-ends, it serves as a stay for my throttle-cable mount. Dr Bob and his BDN S3.

Snetterton is the track I know best having done a few track days before, but to race here is very exciting. The day starts with intermittent rain but as usual my race is one of the last on the programme and by the time we go out for qualifying the rain has stopped and the track is dry. Apart from the complete lack of control, it is...

A New Adventure in Class R. Alternative title : Whatever happened to whatsisname who won the Class F championship once. Sunday, 10 April 2016. Oulton Park April 2016 and the start of my new adventure in Class R. Thought i'd revive my blog and do a very brief update on what happened to me at Oulton Park. Given what happened to many others I came away lightly with no damage so from that point of view it was a good weekend. However my first outing in class R didn't go exactly to plan. So, to cut a very long...

Thursday, 15 January 2009. While I was waiting for my friends outside a restaurant this evening, I was doing a bit of 'people watching'. I like imagining where people are going and where they're from. It makes waiting around a bit more interesting, if nothing else! It wasn't until later in the evening that I started having doubts - should I have called an ambulance? After all, the man had taken a tumble, and didn't seem completely. Have been alcohol, but it could have been more sinister. Jack to confirm ...
